Projects

I did it! I finished diamond painting and I can say I liked doing it. Now I have to find another one to do.

I was watching YouTube and came across making a terrarium with a light bulb. I had to make one. I used a real light bulb didn’t know you could buy them with a screw lid till later but I like how it came out. Also the ones with the screw lid I found to be expensive this only only cost me a littler over a dollar to make since I had all the materials. I bought the light bulbs and messed up one. Glad there were two in the package.

Jeff helped me take out the center part of the bulb. This is dangerous as it’s glass. We both wore protective gloves. Jeff also helped with the copper wire. He had some since well you know Jeff he has like every tool ever and stuff. Lots and lots of stuff to work with. Lol!

I used sand from sandbags we had. Dirt and moss I found out in the yard along with a stick. Then I used a straw and added some water to create the atmosphere.

Life

I have been dealing with a back injury. It has been two weeks now and I am not sure how I did it but I know I sprained a muscle in my back. The first week was horrible! I couldn’t do anything and now in the second week it’s getting better. However I still can’t do what I want completely without it hurting. It sucks.

I was looking for a simple cross stitch project to do. While I was looking on Amazon I kept coming across diamond painting. I have never heard of that. I watched a YouTube video about it and it seemed interesting. I picked out an easy one to do just in case I didn’t like it and for 8 dollars I chose a dragon one. It’s a little hard to find some that people like. Have to really read the reviews.  Well….I like it!

I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished.

Father’s Day

Yesterday was Father’s Day and we had a good time. We had both dad’s at our house like every year now.  We are task with Father’s day and that is fine by us. Jeff made an awesome spread! He made beer brats, bbq chicken which was my favorite, pickle salad also very yummy, beans which was a hit and dessert. It was a fruit dessert with jello and I hate jello. So Ken and Elena brought me some yummy bakery cookies.

We had a good visit. We got Ken $20 gift certificate to DQ. Like I have stated before been working on dolls for my dad and Adam helped me design his. Here they are:

I thought of DAD  which is D for dad, A for Adam and D for Danielle. Clever I think!

I also wrote my dad a letter that I will share. He was surprised and love it.

Dad,

I wanted to write this instead of saying. This way I can get out all I want to say to you.

I want to thank you for all things you have taught me in my life. As I get older I have noticed things about others that now I am glad you taught me.

Thank you for making me do things when I was younger even though at the time I didn’t want to do them. Even when I complained about doing those things.

Thank you for making me do and fold laundry. Even though I still do not fold pants the greatest. Ask Jeff. Ha!

Thank you for letting me help you paint. Yes I was really messy at doing it when I was younger which created some great memories! I have gotten a lot better at it even though I still make a little mess painting. However I do like painting just not prep work but then again who does?

Thank you for making me clean gutters and doing yard work such as mowing the lawn. I dislike mowing the lawn but at least I can do it. I have to say I am good at it.

Thank you for making me use tools. Yes I still say do you need the star or the flat head screwdriver? However at least I know what a screwdriver is. I know how to hang up pictures and use tools in general. I wouldn’t say I know what every tool does but I am not afraid of them and want to learn when Jeff and I do projects. Jeff and I have encountered people who don’t know what screwdriver is or any other tools. Makes me think I am glad my dad taught me about them and made me use them when I was younger.

Thank you for teaching me how to drive! That was a hard task for me. I remember my driving instructor thought I needed more lessons. But you helped me prove him wrong. You are right I drive like you and I have to say I think we drive great.

Thank you for teaching me how to change a tire. I still know how! Even though those lug nuts are hard to get off. Teaching me about a car in general has helped. I admit I don’t know a lot about cars but I get the concepts of them.

You are a great dad! You have taught me a lot more than this. I wanted to point out the things you taught me in my life that has helped me. There will never be enough words to say how much I love and appreciate you!

Life

Friday June 8th we went to a huge rummage sale! I saw it on FB and it was a large garage full of stuff. Come to find out Jeff used to work with the lady who was having the sale. She was interesting and I say that in a good way. She was a talker! Lol! I let them talk as I looked around. It was fun. I found three things that I liked.

Isn’t this cool?! This was five dollars and I crown this the best find! I am giving this to April. She loves wolves.

Then I found these. The bigger one is going to April and the smaller one is going to Helen.  For the both of them five dollars. So I spent ten dollars and got some cool stuff!

I was at Walmart and picked up this:

Okay this is a felt project for beginners and even comes with a hoop. It was about five dollars and I thought easy enough plus I get a hoop.

WRONG! This is a WTF?! Project. There is supposed to be a holes punched in the fabric and the whole owl part didn’t have any holes punched in the fabric. It was a hard on my fingers to punch the holes in the needle. It was lame but I finished it.

As anyone can tell it’s not like the pic but whatever. I am still going to put in on the wall. It’s artsy right? Lol!

Saturday I got a new fitness tracker. My fitbit bit the dust. I actually miss wearing it because I like I can tell the time and steps. So I got a different brand and so far I am happy with it. It’s called Letsfit paid 30 dollars for it. Fitness trackers can be expensive and I thought the Fitbit was going to last longer. Yeah it didn’t and for the band to wear like that they should have some kind of replacement for it.  The Letsfit is awesome! The band comes apart and that is how it is charged. Just put it in the computer. Don’t have to worry about a cord. I thought that was cool! I can also receive text messages and know when a call is coming in. I won’t use this feature but that’s cool. It also tells me the temperature outside. I got it in blue of course.

Something dumb. I hurt my back and it sucks! I think I pulled a muscle on Friday. Not sure when I did it but Friday night I was complaining my back felt sore. The next day I couldn’t move all that much. It still hurts. Like every time when I want to get moving on fitness I get hurt. Not sure why that is that way but it feels like it.

Life

Blog I have been lazy to write in you. Ugh. Okay not being lazy today. Let’s see….

Last Saturday June 1st my parents went to Sun Drop Dayz. We went never been there and it was okay. The time we got there most of the vendors were gone. My mom was mad! Mad at my dad because she wanted to leave early to see the vendors but dad wanted to watch a game on TV. Lol! Anyway they wanted to see The Cougars who are a band that plays a variety of cover songs. Dad told me he is obsessed with them. I thought that was funny. Anyway when we got there the sky was really dark. As soon as The Cougars started playing it started to rain but just sprinkling. They get to the third song it started to pour! I got soaked! We left then went out eat. I had to eat in my wet clothes that part sucked but it was nice to hang out with my parents.

Unfortunately my sister’s dog passed away Red. He was a cool dog. I am glad I got to see him at Mother’s Day. He was so gentle and calm. Red was 14.  I am just going to say this. I hated how my sister and brother in law would compare Red to Koko, always. Like we would talk about Koko and say he was slowing down and then Andy would say well Red is this many years older than Koko. Seriously that doesn’t matter. Each dog like each person is different regardless of age. That always bothered me. Anyway it’s sad when they die. I still miss Koko and I think I always will.

I am not done yet but I made more dolls! Of course I can’t stop making them they are fun. I am going to try to make superhero dolls. Father’s day is coming up and I made dad, Adam and I. When I’m all done I will show.

Life

On Wednesday I met my friend Sam’s wife. All I have to say is AWKWARD! They both came over to pick up some shelves. After meeting her who she seems like a nice lady and I know it’s me, it was still awkward.  Maybe for all the new people I meet I should wear a tag that says “Hi my name is Danielle and I am socially awkward.” Sam and I had a conversation not too long ago and I told him. I am shy when I meet new people. He said you’re not around me and I said remember when we first met I was. Oh yeah he says.

What I learned through the years is test the waters. See if the person has the same sense humor and see what their attitude is. I used to be a little more adventurous but I learned the hard way there are people who aren’t sarcastic like me or have the same sense of humor. So the 35 year old Danielle is more shy because I rather have person test me out first then me. To avoid someone getting mad or taking things the wrong way. This way as I get more comfortable around them then I will open up more. I just find this is better than the other way around. I am sure Sam’s wife Penny thought I was awkward as well. Ugh I am dreading a cookout that Sam and Jeff want to do at Sam’s house. Oh well.

This weekend we are going to look at colors to do our kitchen. We are DIY our kitchen! Fun? No but it will be better than it does now. It’s summer!!!!
