31 Days of Scary

A couple plays a game called Paranoia where they go to an insane asylum and tries to escape rooms for fun….

Plot holes all over the place! Acting is meh and gore is unnecessary. I figured out the killer out easily. The only thing about this movie is the scenes they filmed are pretty good. Too bad this movie is garbage.

First of all it they didn’t make the game long enough. The couple had to find their way to the insane asylum. They could have expanded on that. For example make it creepier getting to the asylum. Wasted opportunity.

The main character is insane and the killer. Like anyone could figure that out. There is this part towards the end that his girlfriend betrays him to get ahead of the game. But I figure out he was the killer. That’s important because he catches up to her in the forest dying. Instead of “Get away from me!” She acts like he needs him to forgive her for betraying him. That doesn’t make any sense, plot hole.

Also in the one of the beginning scenes the girlfriend is strapped to a bed and knives are up above. Lucas has to figure out a code before the knives impales his girlfriend. Well she has to lift her head to see the code written on the knives which we don’t get to see and she scrapes her cheek. When the code is in the door panel the knives go back up. I almost stop watching it from there. First of all there was no blood on her face. How can that be?! There would be lots of blood. It was her face that got a big cut on it. Then throughout the whole movie they forgot she did that because they didn’t show the cut or even dried blood there till like almost end of movie. Terrible!

They show this flashback of the main character Lucas mom chaining him in the basement all his life. He is handcuffed all his life. When he was a young adult he decides he is escaping so he breaks his thumb but…how does he get the other cuff off? They show him with both cuffs off. How is that done? He doesn’t have the key or know where it is. Then he kills his mom and puts her in the basement. They show a flashback that he was in the insane asylum. So here is a major plot hole. He kills his girlfriend and they show her and his mom in the basement. But! But his mom looked like she was kill like a short time ago. She would be all decomposed however he was in the insane asylum from killing his mom. So she wouldn’t have been in the basement. Makes no sense!

No one should see this movie. It’s terrible and has a lot of plot holes in it.

Cube 1997 Netflix Rating 3

6 Strangers are trapped in an endless maze that is either harmful or not. I figured I watched Escape Room. I should watch the movie that everyone is saying where the idea came from, Cube.

When watching this movie I can see where the idea came from for sure for Escape Room. Unlike Escape Room the ending made sense enough. I like the concept that no human was the bad guy. The Cube was the bad guy. That’s clever for the it’s time.

I liked this movie and it deserves a watch.

We did pumpkins and they turned out great. Except the one I did. It’s supposed to be a witch with a spirit but it turned out strange. lol! I also did the bat. Jeff’s of course turned out awesome like always. He did the spirit and the traditional pumpkin.

The Shining 1980 Amazon Prime, Redbox, DVD Rating 5

Do I need to say anything? Other than Classic! I have to watch this every year. I think I am not alone when I think the lady in the bathroom is the worst still. I don’t care how many times I watch this it still scares me.

If I must: A family heads to an isolated Overlook hotel for the winter where an evil presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific of ghosts past and future.

Always a 5!

Green Room 2015 Netflix Rating 3

A punk band is hired for a show and they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. A murder has happened and they are locked in a green room. They aren’t allowed to leave while the owner and his party of Nazi’s conspired to get rid of them. Now they have to escape somehow.

I thought this movie was okay. What I have read a lot of people like this film but I am in the middle I think. The two actors Patrick Stewart and Anthony Yelchin I think were under used. Also fact both in the Star Trek universe! I just didn’t care about any of the characters in this one but the concept saves it. I wish it was done better.

However I think it’s worth a watch and I can see why people like it.

Escape Room 2019 Redbox Rating 3

Six people are invited to play in an Escape Room. Each person had survived a huge tragedy in their life. However the Escape Rooms is real and they can really die in them. Who will survive?

I wasn’t expecting anything great from this movie but was surprise. I actually liked this movie till the end. The end is so disappointing! I did have problems with the characters. The weren’t the warmest of people either so when certain characters were to die. I was like well your an asshole so I guess you had it coming to you. Lol!

It’s worth a watch just be ready to be disappointed in the ending. It’s like they were like well there is this cool idea we had throughout the movie but we don’t know how to tie it in. So here is this really dumb ending instead and not answer the question at all.

Scooby-Doo Return to Zombie Island 2019 Redbox Rating 1

I loved the first one. It’s one of my favorite Scooby-Doo movies. So I was excited when I saw they made another one. It’s exactly what the title says. The gang goes back to Zombie Island sort of.

Also if you didn’t see any movies before this one except for the Zombie Island some of the story line wouldn’t make sense. They do go in order.

I hate this movie. All the jokes are too cheesy. Some of it doesn’t make sense and there is a lot of movie tropes in it.

Don’t waste your time.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe 2016 Netflix Rating 3

A father and son who are corners receive a body that is involved in an solved murder. The body has no name and has no past in the criminal system hence Jane Doe.

Of course they receive the body at night during a thunderstorm. Because of Jane Doe many scary things start to happen and odd things when they start opening her up.

I was surprised on how scary and the jump scares as well. I wasn’t expecting this movie as the description is fairly basic. The twist was unexpected as well.

Not super amazing but it was a nice surprise for that it’s a 3. Worth a watch.

Haunt 2019 Redbox Rating 2

A group of college students go to a haunted house. The people in the haunted house is trying to kill them. Who will survive?

I have seen many movies like this so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this movie. However I was surprised the main character actually has a past! That usually doesn’t happen. Even though that is a plus the negative it still has a lot of the same haunted house tropes. Also a lot of the times the characters are really dumb.

For that it’s a 2 for me. If you want something a little different this is a watch but can be looked it over as well.

Murder Party 2007 Netflix Rating 2

It’s supposed to be a horror comedy but I wasn’t laughing at any point. I give it a 2 because I like the concept of the movie but it lacked in execution.

Chris finds an invitation to a Murder Party and he goes. It’s exactly what the invitation says. It’s Chris’s Murder Party. So a group of artists get together to murder someone for the sake of art and things get out of hand.

Does Chris survive? It’s the not the worst movie but it’s not the best either. However worth a watch as you know what you are getting into.
