Well the adopting thing changed. We were going to go with Adoption Choice Inc. But then we thought they were the only first one we talk too. Also there has to be a cheaper way to adopt $20,000 is steep price. So we been shopping around, doesn’t that sound funny. Anyway after looking at a ton of agencies Jeff found Lutheran Counseling & Family Services. This agency is the furthest away from us as they are in Milwaukee. However their cost is almost six thousand dollars less, as they are non profit. However this one is a religious affiliate however we don’t have to be Lutheran so that is good. We do have raise the child learning and understanding God. Yes we can do that! As Jeff and I believe in God. I would love to teach our child about God.

On Thursday next week we will be doing a phone conversation or meeting I suppose with someone there. I am interested what they have to say and answer our questions.

Next week is going to be crazy week. Monday normal, Tuesday through Wednesday April, Thursday talk to lady about adoption and then go out to lunch, Friday possibly have dinner with some of Jeff’s co-workers, Saturday game night at Chrissy’s house because Adam will be here and then Sunday relax! Then it will be Christmas.

 

 

Popcorn Balls

On Saturday we did popcorn balls and this is was the biggest get together for them. Here is who came: Me and Jeff, Chrissy and family, Corey and family, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Dave, Aunt Sue and Uncle Dan and the big surprise my cousin Erich. Erich lives in Oklahoma and he happened to visit his parents the weekend of popcorn balls. It was good to see him. Family trivia Erich and I were born on the same day March 17th. Huge life decision has been made! We have decided where to adopt. We are going with Adoption Choice Inc. Last Tuesday we went to an 2 hour information meeting. We got a folder stuff with information. With having all the info we decided on the private adoption but will take siblings.

The costs is what kills us, it’s going to be about $20,000. So I am going to put my writing chops to the test and enter as many as I can contests with stories and poems on the internet. We are also going to be doing fundraising in person and online. I am also going to be selling all my creations. I think that all will help.

We were going to go with Bethany Christian Services however we didn’t meet the criteria. One of them was we had to be part of Christian church or community for a year. I think they should put that on their website. They say they accept everyone but that’s not true. I thought that was dumb. With Adoption Choice Inc they aren’t affiliate with any religious groups.

To be honest I am nervous and excited all at once. It’s such a huge life decision to make but I am happy to go this route then the alternative. This is what I want the most out of my life is to have child. No matter what this child or children will be ours.

Over the weekend we got snow! NOOO!!! I know, I know it was going to happen.

I just got tasked to make 12 hats for Christmas. I like creating but I am tired of making. Lol!

On the adoption front. We are going to talk to Bethany Christian Services. I have never heard of them before but one of Jeff’s co-workers just got their child from there. We looked at them and read all their stuff from their website. Going to check them out soon. I hope during December here.

I don’t know really. I think at this point in my life I don’t really want to physically have a baby. However my mom wants us to pursue the whole fertility thing. I would prefer to adopt a child instead. I am still mystified that my mom didn’t like the idea of us adopting. It’s still another grandchild regardless. And whatever child we get they will be ours regardless.

What’s insane is how much adoption costs! You can spend and spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a child. It’s so crazy! Just to do the home study is $1500. If you don’t get a child that year, years after it is $500. Wow! But still worth it. I’ll keep you updated on that.

Nothing really else just making and making Christmas presents.

I am setting a big goal for myself. I am going to read 50 books. Why? Because I miss reading. I used to love to read but now I always say I am going to read then I don’t. I want to finish 50 books by next December. The books do not have to famous books either and they do have to books I have never read before.

I mostly got this book because it had police dogs in it and looked interesting .It wasn’t. It had two stories in one book. Both stories were boring and generic. Not a great book to start out with.

This book was great expect the ending. It was very action packed! I want to read more stories by this author. The ending gave me the rolling eyes effect. Like whatever.  I know these are romantic story stories but please that is not how it works in real life. I wish she would have gone more real life for the romantic part.

I got some more of these type of books because they are so cheap at about 5 dollars a piece. Something about holding an actual book, I like. I know old fashion I suppose.

I have been a creating fool! I am almost done with all three mermaids. Then I have to make four hats maybe more, haven’t decided yet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tex the other day wasn’t helping me clean the office. Lol! But he found the window!

 

 

 

 

 

 

What is this? Tex and Scotty together?!

We have been having a terrible time of Tex being too rowdy with Scotty. Biting his face which Tex bit a chuck out of. Tex bites Scotty’s ears and gets little owies on them. Our training instructor says that Scotty will eventually fight back but when was the question. Tex was literally hurting Scotty. So…

I don’t like the idea of the shock collar but we got one anyway. I shocked myself and will NEVER shock Tex. However it does beep and vibrate. We did beep then vibrate once so he knows this isn’t okay. So far only beep has him stopping. We have never shocked him and never will but the beep is nice. It funny Tex thinks the beeping is in the floor. Like IN the floor! LOL! Anyways Tex was sleeping on top of Scotty mostly but not biting him. We were worried that Tex was going to scratch out Scotty’s eyes or even bite near them because how he was trying to play with Scotty. This way we have a peaceful Scotty who is trying not to be scared of Tex which he was and still is a bit. I think eventually they will live peaceful together. And that is what we will use the collar for and that is it. All other behavioral things is the word NO! We just want Scotty and Tex to get along. We were separating them and that sucked. I felt bad for Scotty who couldn’t be with us because of Tex being so aggressive with him. We understand that Tex is a puppy but that isn’t right to actually cause harm to Scotty.

We had Tex out of his play area from the time Jeff got home till 9. That is Tex’s bedtime. He was so worn out for being out and not taking a nap that he slept all of last night! He has never done that. It’s funny when you see the personality. I ask him if he wants to go potty around 11 at night but last night he gave me attitude and went back to sleep. He makes this whining noise like “Hey trying to sleep here.” Then sticks out his tongue, goes back to bed. He is so silly!

The biting has stopped, mostly. Once in a while he does nip and he has bitten me during play. I tell him owie! Then I get kisses for sorry. He still has a way in the training but he is trying, so that is something. He is starting to show his personality more which is cool to see. Oh and I am for sure his mom and he likes me more than Jeff. LOL! He always wants to sit on my feet and lay near me more than Jeff and I get a ton of kisses! Which is a huge switch from when we got him.

 

Happy Thanksgiving

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and it was good. I think every year Thanksgiving is getting smaller and smaller.

I remember Thanksgiving as a kid and it was a ton of people. We also use to play family football together but that hasn’t happened in years. Now everyone is older and grown up.  Also most of the women would get out ads from the paper to look at deals for today Black Friday. Now no one does that anymore together.

I was a little sad that we couldn’t play poker this year because we had to get home to Tex. Next year we can stay to play.

It’s always good to see the family even though not that many show up now.

Adopting has been sort of a strange process. There are some services that actually discourage adopting. I thought that was strange. We talked to someone who does Foster Care in our town and they are the ones who discourage it. I thought that was strange because there has to be kids who need adopting even in our town. We also tried a service in Appleton that said they are so full of applicants that will would be 2 year wait or longer. In fact they said they were doing their applicants like a lottery because they have so many. That didn’t sound promising to me.  Also I can’t wait that long, it was really the longer part that got me. So we keep going and looking to see what other services their are.

Been working on Christmas presents. And…owie! My tennis elbow is really acting up. Ugh.

So far I made two mermaids but still have to make their faces. The green one is for my mom. It’s industrial beachy that is the theme to my mom’s house. I didn’t know it was a real thing but it is. The second one is for Bree. Terrible yarn! I got Mary Maxium Prisim yarn. I got that one because it had pastel colors. It was terrible yarn. It frayed so easily and took forever to get to the other colors. It was mostly pink.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have also been working on the diamond painting. I forget how long it takes to do. But I love this project so much! It’s coming together.

For Halloween I created a boomaid which is a mermaid. LOL! I needed to make a prototype so I can make some mermaids for Christmas. It turned out great!

LOL nice imagine right. However it’s cool and it’s going to take me some time to do this one. I can’t wait to see it finished.

Puppy class wasn’t so good. Tex wouldn’t listen at all. But the instructor says she can tell when people practice and when they do not. So she said that all puppies have those days just like people and she thinks Tex will get. Just have to keep going on the training.

I got Red Dead Redemption 2! It’s so fun! I think this is better than the first. Having fun robbing and killing people. LOL! Also bonding with my horse. Had a glitch already had a elongated horse. It’s neck was so stretch for some time. I think those kind of glitches are funny!

I voted! I think voting is important. This time I voted a little more Democratic. Since I am an Independent I can choose the person not the party. I felt like those people I voted for would do a good job. I did vote for some Republicans as well. All the people I voted for got in. I am very happy with this election.

 

 

 

Happy Halloween!

Whoooo! You know what that means?! A whole month of scary movies!

The rating I set is 5 out of 5. Of course 1 being terrible and 5 being amazing.

The Shining  (Netflix) 5/5 I saw that Netflix finally had this available. So of course I started October with a classic. Still scary!

Pizza (Netflix) 3/5 This is a foreign movie from India. The acting is actually pretty good. It’s worth a watch with the subtitles. The premise of this movie is Kunal is a pizza delivery man. He finds out his wife is pregnant. That’s important has to do a lot with pregnant women. His wife is also obsessed with scary. She tells him everyone has a moment. Well, Kunal finds his moment when he delivers pizza to a house and gets trapped in it. It’s not the scariest movie but has good jump scares. The twist is good.

House of Bones (Amazon Prime) 3/5 This movie is about a TV show that is about ghost hunters. (I don’t know why but I like those movies.) It’s not the most amazing movie. The reasoning for the rating. This movie wasn’t terrible and kept my interest. The acting isn’t the greatest but not the worst I have seen.

Villmark Asylum (Amazon Prime) 2/5  This movie is from Norway. Ever watch a movie and get that feeling you watch it already? Yeah I had a feeling I saw this movie already. Anyway it wasn’t that good so that is probably why I didn’t remember watching it, towards the end. I thought it was going to be a lot scarier as the acting is good in this movie. This movie is about a team that goes in an Asylum to prepare it for demolition. The caretaker is creepy, of course. The team finds a person that shouldn’t be there and in the background you see things move. You can tell this movie had money. Unfortunately it doesn’t hit the scary for me. I think the problem with this movie is they were trying too hard. Anyway I would skip this movie in the future. Now if I can remember watching it. Lol!

I had a bloody good time at House Harker (Amazon Prime) 4/5 This is a horror comedy. The acting was good and it was cheesy at the same time. I got some good laughs out of this movie. It’s a family of siblings and a best friend that are about to lose their childhood house. They live in a small town and known to be weirdos and losers. Their family ancestors are vampire killers and they have a vampire skull. When the siblings accidentally bring back a vampire, all hell breaks loose.

Crush the skull (Amazon Prime) 2/5 I thought about giving this movie a one but it made me laugh so two. This is NOT a horror comedy but it’s so bad that it was funny. A group of thieves brother, sister, husband and another guy go and try to rob this house only to get stuck in it with psychos. The beginning of the movie didn’t make sense till end which felt like they had to somehow tie in it. It was horrible tie in.

Stephanie (Netflix) 5/5 Wow this movie was great! I totally didn’t see the twist in this one. It had some jump scares in it and it’s worth the watch. This is about a little girl Stephanie is left alone in a house and her dead brother’s body in his room. You don’t see anything but you can hear a monster come into the house and out. You don’t know where the little girl’s parents are. So you follow her around for some time till her parents return.

The Haunting of Hill house TV show (Netflix) 5/5 This is the scariest thing I have seen in the longest time! Episode 5 I thought was the scariest out of the whole show. I like all the movies so I had to watch the show. This took me a while to watch because it scared me so badly! A must see!

Rocky Horror Picture Show 4/5 I used to watch this with my mom when I was younger. Seeing it as an adult is SO much different. I still love the music from the movie. However I think I am good for ever really watching it again. I know it’s a cult classic but I didn’t really realize how sexual it is. Not that is a bad thing but…not really a Halloween movie to watch.

Terrifier (Netflix) 1/5 This was the stupidest gory movie. It’s about a silent clown that kills people on Halloween. It wasn’t even fun gory it was just the sake for gory. Didn’t tell why he killed. No character building. Just death, gore and tons of blood.

Ghoul (Netflix) 4/5  This is a mini series from from Indiana but on Netflix it’s dubbed in English. This is a mini series of three episodes. It doesn’t get good till about half through the second episode. This takes place in the future at a military prison, integration facility. Someone releases a ghoul which brings out each person’s dark secrets. It has some pretty good jump scares and the ghoul is scary enough. The ending is good as well.
