Life

Friday June 8th we went to a huge rummage sale! I saw it on FB and it was a large garage full of stuff. Come to find out Jeff used to work with the lady who was having the sale. She was interesting and I say that in a good way. She was a talker! Lol! I let them talk as I looked around. It was fun. I found three things that I liked.

Isn’t this cool?! This was five dollars and I crown this the best find! I am giving this to April. She loves wolves.

Then I found these. The bigger one is going to April and the smaller one is going to Helen.  For the both of them five dollars. So I spent ten dollars and got some cool stuff!

I was at Walmart and picked up this:

Okay this is a felt project for beginners and even comes with a hoop. It was about five dollars and I thought easy enough plus I get a hoop.

WRONG! This is a WTF?! Project. There is supposed to be a holes punched in the fabric and the whole owl part didn’t have any holes punched in the fabric. It was a hard on my fingers to punch the holes in the needle. It was lame but I finished it.

As anyone can tell it’s not like the pic but whatever. I am still going to put in on the wall. It’s artsy right? Lol!

Saturday I got a new fitness tracker. My fitbit bit the dust. I actually miss wearing it because I like I can tell the time and steps. So I got a different brand and so far I am happy with it. It’s called Letsfit paid 30 dollars for it. Fitness trackers can be expensive and I thought the Fitbit was going to last longer. Yeah it didn’t and for the band to wear like that they should have some kind of replacement for it.  The Letsfit is awesome! The band comes apart and that is how it is charged. Just put it in the computer. Don’t have to worry about a cord. I thought that was cool! I can also receive text messages and know when a call is coming in. I won’t use this feature but that’s cool. It also tells me the temperature outside. I got it in blue of course.

Something dumb. I hurt my back and it sucks! I think I pulled a muscle on Friday. Not sure when I did it but Friday night I was complaining my back felt sore. The next day I couldn’t move all that much. It still hurts. Like every time when I want to get moving on fitness I get hurt. Not sure why that is that way but it feels like it.

Life

Blog I have been lazy to write in you. Ugh. Okay not being lazy today. Let’s see….

Last Saturday June 1st my parents went to Sun Drop Dayz. We went never been there and it was okay. The time we got there most of the vendors were gone. My mom was mad! Mad at my dad because she wanted to leave early to see the vendors but dad wanted to watch a game on TV. Lol! Anyway they wanted to see The Cougars who are a band that plays a variety of cover songs. Dad told me he is obsessed with them. I thought that was funny. Anyway when we got there the sky was really dark. As soon as The Cougars started playing it started to rain but just sprinkling. They get to the third song it started to pour! I got soaked! We left then went out eat. I had to eat in my wet clothes that part sucked but it was nice to hang out with my parents.

Unfortunately my sister’s dog passed away Red. He was a cool dog. I am glad I got to see him at Mother’s Day. He was so gentle and calm. Red was 14.  I am just going to say this. I hated how my sister and brother in law would compare Red to Koko, always. Like we would talk about Koko and say he was slowing down and then Andy would say well Red is this many years older than Koko. Seriously that doesn’t matter. Each dog like each person is different regardless of age. That always bothered me. Anyway it’s sad when they die. I still miss Koko and I think I always will.

I am not done yet but I made more dolls! Of course I can’t stop making them they are fun. I am going to try to make superhero dolls. Father’s day is coming up and I made dad, Adam and I. When I’m all done I will show.

Life

On Wednesday I met my friend Sam’s wife. All I have to say is AWKWARD! They both came over to pick up some shelves. After meeting her who she seems like a nice lady and I know it’s me, it was still awkward.  Maybe for all the new people I meet I should wear a tag that says “Hi my name is Danielle and I am socially awkward.” Sam and I had a conversation not too long ago and I told him. I am shy when I meet new people. He said you’re not around me and I said remember when we first met I was. Oh yeah he says.

What I learned through the years is test the waters. See if the person has the same sense humor and see what their attitude is. I used to be a little more adventurous but I learned the hard way there are people who aren’t sarcastic like me or have the same sense of humor. So the 35 year old Danielle is more shy because I rather have person test me out first then me. To avoid someone getting mad or taking things the wrong way. This way as I get more comfortable around them then I will open up more. I just find this is better than the other way around. I am sure Sam’s wife Penny thought I was awkward as well. Ugh I am dreading a cookout that Sam and Jeff want to do at Sam’s house. Oh well.

This weekend we are going to look at colors to do our kitchen. We are DIY our kitchen! Fun? No but it will be better than it does now. It’s summer!!!!

Avengers Infinity War

Jeff and I saw the Avengers Infinity War on Thursday May 24 at 9:45 in the morning. It was the one of the best movies I have seen this year! This movie was way better than the second one. I totally love Robert Downey Jr and Chris Pratt they had the funny charisma! I hope we get to see more of those two in the next movie!

Jeff was surprised about Dr. Strange. He refused to see his movie because he thought it was going to be stupid. But he found out he likes Dr. Strange. Maybe I can convince him to watch Dr. Strange. I would watch it again. Come on that cape is funny!

I didn’t know we were going to go see the Avengers but I did see the Black Panther earlier that week. I wasn’t disappointed on the story because I heard others didn’t like it as well. So it was an okay movie. I like how I got to learn about the Black Panther but it wasn’t anything special. His suit is cool though and the technology. So when he showed up in the Avengers I did understand better.

Wow I so love this movie and I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD!

Bathroom

Finally we have a bathroom! The guys we hired even though good were scatterbrains! Very irritating because they would come late every day and leave early.  First they pushed us back a week then they didn’t show up on the day they said. I was so angry that I was trying to convince Jeff to cancel the whole project and figure out something else. Like a different company or just have someone come and do the plumping. But Jeff wanted these guys because they were in our budget and they would do all of the bathroom. I was just so mad because we have been wanting to do the bathroom since last year and even wanted them to come out and do it since then.

Finally came a day later and only did some work and this was understandable found out that our floors underneath was wet.

They had to leave for a day so it could dry that sucked. Also we found out all of our electrical is underneath the bathroom. Whom ever designed our house made a bad decision. Why would you put electrical underneath the bathroom?

Took them almost two weeks to do the bathroom. Jeff and I went to my parents house to take showers. We felt bad for Scotty he didn’t like the guys even though they were nice. He wanted nothing to do with them. He doesn’t open a lot to other people.

They cover our old paint with a skip trowel method. The picture doesn’t do it justice it really looked like someone threw up orange in there.

Before and after. Looks so much better. Even though it took longer than we wanted we are happy with the end result. The curtain isn’t staying we want a door but we have to save up for that.

Rummage Sale

Friday mom and I went to a lot of rummage sales and it was fun. It was a nice day and hot out.

I have a funny story! So we go to this rummage sale with this elderly man. We are looking around and mom comes across this pineapple thing. The old man says “Pick it up.” So my mom does and she says “What is this?” And he says “I don’t know really.” It’s accordion out and it was a strange thing however as it pulls out it breaks apart and breaks. The old man says “Oh no!” Mom put it down quickly. We looked around and then left quickly. LOL!!!! That old man gave my mom such an evil look. He told her to pick it up, right?! My mom wasn’t going to pick it up at all. When we got in the car I was cry laughing!

The next day Jeff and I were at my parent’s house and I told my dad the story. We all were laughing so hard! My dad was surprised my mom didn’t give him the dollar he wanted for that thing. OMG it was so funny.

I found some cool things at the rummage sale my prize a Packer hat for 5 dollars!

The strange thing I found was an old liquor holder and glasses for 2 dollars!

Mother’s Day

Mother’s day was fun and strange at the same time.

We ended up at Chrissy’s house. My brother in law cannot cook chicken yet he wants to cook chicken for every family gathering. I was having a hard time eating the one piece that I had. It was a bloody chicken. Ew! Good thing there was other stuff to eat. I found out Chrissy was in a commercial! As soon as I can find it I will put it in here. It’s a funny commercial about windows.

It was a very nice day for Mother’s day it was sunny and hot, we all got to sit outside. I got sunburn all over but it was still a good time. So we are chatting and Kim gets up and says “Time to go. So I can go home sit on my couch and watch Netflix.” Isn’t that a strange thing to say to leave?! I would never say anything like that but that is Kim. She wasn’t even there for two hours and she had to leave. That was the strange.

I am glad we got to have Mother’s day at someone house because no way we were going to a restaurant and you know why.

Life

It’s been a week since Koko died and it has been tough. I have to say it’s been really tough for Scotty. He slowly starting to act like himself but we have noticed now he is scared of EVERYTHING! He has always been scared of a lot of stuff but I think Koko made him braver since Koko is not here he has been more scared of things. It really sucks and we are unsure if he will become more confident over time or just be scared all the time. Only time will tell I think.

We are finally getting a new bathroom! They are starting tomorrow and soon we have not a moldy bathroom. It’s exciting!

What’s not exciting is this weekend is Mother’s Day. Already there is conflict. Of course sister-in-law wants to go to a restaurant which will be super busy AND expensive. The reason why she wants this because it’s go out to eat then everyone leave which I can see that. However if that is what they are going to do, we are not coming. Too expensive for us. We decided if that is what everyone is going to do we will celebrate Mother’s Day with mom the day before which happens to be Saturday. I am not giving into going to a restaurant thing. Mom wants to have it at Chrissy’s house which we could do that means we only have to bring something and spend time with oh I don’t know mom which is what the day is all about anyways.

I made two dolls for mom and then we are going to get her some flowers.

Goodbye

Today we say goodbye to Koko. I am very, very sad.

We have been debating since January whether or not because he would have these bad days but on Wednesday he was having a hard time getting up. His cancerous lump is engulfing his leg and giving him pain. When he does get up he limps. It sucks. I am going to miss him so much!

I will always remember his story and the joy he brought to our lives.

The story of Koko: Jeff and I just moved out of his parents house as Jeff got a great job. We didn’t even ask our landlord if we could have a dog. Our landlord let us stay renting even after getting Koko. I wanted a small dog because I grew up with a Shih Tzu. Jeff wanted a big dog because he grew up with a German Shepard and Saint Bernards. We were looking on Craiglist and Jeff found a picture of a black lab hanging out on a lawn.

It was instant! I wanted him! I just had this feeling like we belonged. Jeff said I would be allergic which hence why we had a Shih Tzu when I was younger. I told Jeff I didn’t care he needed to come with us. Was I allergic yes I got hives but after living with him that didn’t happen so much. I took allergy pills and kept my house a little cleaner.

When we got to the house he wasn’t shy too much. He was wagging his tail and I could tell he liked the husband. So a guy dog. Lol! We petted him and he was excited but that just Koko he loved people. We talked about it and I was still he has to come with us. So we got Koko. He had a wound on his leg which we found out is a nervous tick he had. The wife told us that he got his leg caught on the fence. I think yes at one time he had and when he got nervous he licked that thing raw. He already had scar tissue under the wound so it had to be there for some time. He also had a tiny scar under his eye. Can tell because of the missing fur that was there but you had to really look under his eye to see it.

When we got him home he was nervous! He drank an ocean it seemed like and had to go potty a ton as well. A few months having him he would whimper that Jeff left to work. But he got over that and we became buddies. He loved walks, playing tug of war and showing off his squeaky toy. He was always there when we were sad and happy. He loved to cuddle on the bed with us till he got too old to do so. His favorite was ear scratches.  Also I loved how he didn’t give a shit about a lot of stuff dogs usually bark at. Mailman, thunder storms or loud noises he didn’t care. We always thought that was funny.

AND he was our supervisor on projects. He liked to be included no matter what we were doing. That is what we called him. “Our supervisor is here.”  Lol! We had to say “Koko back up” and he would back up literally. We used to joke we should put back up lights and sounds on him. Too funny!

Funny he hated peanut butter we thought that was strange. Also he would get tired of certain treats that we had to switch it up just for him.

I thought it was really funny when he would get mad at us. He would go to the corner of the room and turn his back on us. LOL! He wasn’t mad all that often but still! Another funny is when he knew we were laughing at him. He was clumsy and do silly things which were so funny. Also he didn’t like pics of himself. Seriously I don’t think he knew he was a dog.

Officially we had Koko for more than half his life and I can say he had the best life. He was loved so much! We are going to miss our Koko, Pooh Bear, Pooh pooh, Mr. Brown eyes and Koko Puff.

ER

Yesterday I got to spend 3 hours at the ER. I wanted to go to Urgent Care but they sent me to the ER instead. I have been having terrible pain in my back and it went to the side. Touching my side would send a wave a pain! They made me pee in a cup that took a little over a half an hour to get results. I was in the clear. Then they tell me I must have strained a muscle in my back and it localized itself to my side.

The solution inject two shots in my butt! OMG! They gave me a shot of a muscle relaxer and Ibuprofen. Before she does that she tells me both shots will give me a burning sensation. It was like sitting in fire! I had to wait 20 minutes which seemed like forever for the shots to take affect. Then they say it will last up to 3 to 4 hours. I can say it lasted 2 an a half hours. Now my injection site hurts worst than my muscle strain.

However at least this time I had very nice people looking after me. You know me! I usually get the grumpy people or the doctors who are unfriendly. But no this time so I am grateful for that.
