Girls Weekend

Yeah not really…

So when one says girls weekend most think the whole weekend right? Well not in my family. I am not sure why they call it girls weekend should be called girls day.

Thursday we went over there and I stayed the night at my mom’s house. We saw Alice and her kids. It was embarrassing to say the least. We went to a restaurant for dinner and Alice lets her kids run around. She doesn’t discipline them when they bump into people and her youngest made someone fall down. They were bothering the workers of the restaurant. It was awkward.

Friday was an adventure in the morning. We are waiting at a stop light and this older man is in front of us. But the man hadn’t move all the way up to trigger the light. So the line got bigger and bigger and people started to honk. Mom was honking and yelling for him to move up. The older man flips us off. Finally mom opens her door to get out and that makes the man to move up. As soon as he does the light turns green. As we pass him he flipped us off again. I thought the situation was funny! After that we went to breakfast with Aunt Kathy.

After that mom asked if I wanted to go to sewing class with her and Bree. At first I said no but mom kept insisting. So I decided to go and I wished I hadn’t. Sewing class was for Bree and there wasn’t a whole lot of people but I had nothing to do. For 2 hours and wondered around, it was at a library. So I looked at books talked to an older man reading the paper. It was really boring.

Then mom dropped off Bree at her house and she dropped me off at her house as she had an appointment. While she was gone I colored.

Later that evening we all went to dinner at the Hinterland Brewery. Never been there before and as we went in, I think I will not go back.  The only reason is it was really expensive! If you don’t specify which beer you want you get the bigger one that is more expensive of course.

This beer is 12 dollars! Ahhh!! And for 12 I thought it was okay. The food was okay but expensive. I am glad my sister bought. That night we watched the Descendants which is a kid’s movie. But it wasn’t too bad. Mom and I slept at my sister’s house that night. I got to see their new puppy and he was fun! He is a Labradoodle. His name is Marley and he is 14 weeks.

Awe! I love this pic of Bree and Marley. And of course their other dog Bailey who loves to be petted.

Saturday we went to paint pottery. I am at the point where I don’t have to paint pottery anymore. I am not sure what to do with the stuff I paint. I painted a mug and I didn’t take a pic. That is unlike me but I didn’t take my phone with me. I know shocker!

However it was fun when we did things together.

Goodbye

Today we say goodbye to Koko. I am very, very sad.

We have been debating since January whether or not because he would have these bad days but on Wednesday he was having a hard time getting up. His cancerous lump is engulfing his leg and giving him pain. When he does get up he limps. It sucks. I am going to miss him so much!

I will always remember his story and the joy he brought to our lives.

The story of Koko: Jeff and I just moved out of his parents house as Jeff got a great job. We didn’t even ask our landlord if we could have a dog. Our landlord let us stay renting even after getting Koko. I wanted a small dog because I grew up with a Shih Tzu. Jeff wanted a big dog because he grew up with a German Shepard and Saint Bernards. We were looking on Craiglist and Jeff found a picture of a black lab hanging out on a lawn.

It was instant! I wanted him! I just had this feeling like we belonged. Jeff said I would be allergic which hence why we had a Shih Tzu when I was younger. I told Jeff I didn’t care he needed to come with us. Was I allergic yes I got hives but after living with him that didn’t happen so much. I took allergy pills and kept my house a little cleaner.

When we got to the house he wasn’t shy too much. He was wagging his tail and I could tell he liked the husband. So a guy dog. Lol! We petted him and he was excited but that just Koko he loved people. We talked about it and I was still he has to come with us. So we got Koko. He had a wound on his leg which we found out is a nervous tick he had. The wife told us that he got his leg caught on the fence. I think yes at one time he had and when he got nervous he licked that thing raw. He already had scar tissue under the wound so it had to be there for some time. He also had a tiny scar under his eye. Can tell because of the missing fur that was there but you had to really look under his eye to see it.

When we got him home he was nervous! He drank an ocean it seemed like and had to go potty a ton as well. A few months having him he would whimper that Jeff left to work. But he got over that and we became buddies. He loved walks, playing tug of war and showing off his squeaky toy. He was always there when we were sad and happy. He loved to cuddle on the bed with us till he got too old to do so. His favorite was ear scratches.  Also I loved how he didn’t give a shit about a lot of stuff dogs usually bark at. Mailman, thunder storms or loud noises he didn’t care. We always thought that was funny.

AND he was our supervisor on projects. He liked to be included no matter what we were doing. That is what we called him. “Our supervisor is here.”  Lol! We had to say “Koko back up” and he would back up literally. We used to joke we should put back up lights and sounds on him. Too funny!

Funny he hated peanut butter we thought that was strange. Also he would get tired of certain treats that we had to switch it up just for him.

I thought it was really funny when he would get mad at us. He would go to the corner of the room and turn his back on us. LOL! He wasn’t mad all that often but still! Another funny is when he knew we were laughing at him. He was clumsy and do silly things which were so funny. Also he didn’t like pics of himself. Seriously I don’t think he knew he was a dog.

Officially we had Koko for more than half his life and I can say he had the best life. He was loved so much! We are going to miss our Koko, Pooh Bear, Pooh pooh, Mr. Brown eyes and Koko Puff.

Happy New Year!

It’s another year and I made it! I am still here. Yay!

This year I am continuing to lose more weight. I hope one day I will be like I am good but for now more losing.

On January first we went to my sister’s house. We laughed about how Corey wasn’t coming to this party either. Jeff said something funny. He said “Kim posted something super funny on FB. She said said maybe to the party.” Lol oh Jeff!

The party was for the other side of the family. My mom’s side who we don’t see all that often. There is a reason for that. My aunt Terry was in town she now lives in Texas. That is the reason why we went even though I really didn’t want too. The reason we don’t see that side is because they are not fun to be around. They are judgy but they are strange. They give me a strange feeling.

At the party I felt super awkward! First my Aunt Terry who haven’t seen in years, sort of judged me. She asked where I worked. Yup that look I love so much came into play. Of course being sarcastic. I hurried and used my super power of changing the subject to her and kept her talking about herself.  All their kids came and I haven’t seen them since they were little kids. Now they are all grown up and one of them is engaged. When they all started to come in they weren’t very nice. They acted like the rest of us didn’t exist. They all gathered at a table and talked with each other. That to me is snobbish. And my mom wonders why I don’t like her side of the family. Also my aunts and uncles only some of them talked to us. I should say me because Jeff and Andy were gabbing about computers the whole time. Even when I wanted to leave Jeff wanted to stay and talk to Andy. Even though for a week he has been complaining about going to this party. I couldn’t wait to leave, I kept checking my watch. I said we are staying for two hours so we stayed for two hours.

Great start to the New Year, not.

Family

On December 29 Jeff and I went to see my cousin Alice and her family. I decided we should go over to her mom’s house this time for one reason because I know that my Aunt Sue loves to see us. So this way we can see my Aunt and Uncle plus Alice and family. It was a good visit. We had pizza and it was good. Alice bought a house so we got to see pics of it. It’s a nice house but wow couldn’t believe how much they paid for it. Their house in Wisconsin would be less then a hundred thousand dollars. But in Utah it was over two hundred thousand dollars. So crazy!

Alice’s kids were being funny however her little girl Zarah was being super cute! She is one now and she can walk but she doesn’t talk yet. Just makes a lot of noise. She LOVED Jeff. OMG! It was soooooo cute! She learned how to fist bump and she wanted to fist bump Jeff more than anyone. Lol! Then she brought him her toys. Then when we were leaving she wanted to give Jeff the most hugs and kisses. It was so cute and funny!

After seeing Alice we went over to hangout with Adam. That was a whole other drama which one I thought was funny because I just knew how it was going to go. I just didn’t know how Adam would take it though. So at Christmas Kim says to Adam “Hey if you extend your trip till Friday. We all should hangout.” Adam got his ticket changed till leaving on Saturday so we all could hang out. Adam sends out a mass text to all the siblings that he wants us to come over to the parents house to hangout. It worked out because we had plans to be in Green Bay to have dinner with my parents. Which that changed because we all were going to hangout at their house and they decided to go to a concert with some friends.

Chrissy and I text back that, that will be awesome. We didn’t see Corey text back. I just knew, knowing Corey that he wasn’t coming. We all know how I feel about him and his wife. So if he came didn’t come, I didn’t really care. Jeff and I knew that he wasn’t coming. However Adam didn’t know that Corey rarely comes to anything so this made him mad when Corey texted that he couldn’t make it. Of course I was like ‘duh’. Wow Adam told him off and that is why this was funny. Just how much he gave it to Corey because Chrissy and I never say anything to him about this but Adam told him off. What I didn’t know is that this was Kim’s idea. My dad told me that, then Adam confirmed it.

Chrissy got so drunk and she is a silly drunk. We played Bang! And she was just being so funny! After that we told stories and just having a great time. So much laughing and it was great to see Adam again. Wasn’t sure if we would see him before he left. So this was perfect! I can’t wait till Adam sees Corey again it’s going to go down. Lol!

Popcorn Balls

On December 16, we did popcorn balls. It was fun! Maybe it’s because I am getting older. But I wanted event with the family where it’s in a fun environment and it was. Everyone was laughing and having a great time.

This is my favorite pic from the day:

Left to right: Andy, dad, Corey, Bree, myself, Drew and Crayne.

What a great day it was!

Fur Baby

Oh no! Koko one day got this lump on his leg. And it’s not a tiny lump a big lump! We went to the vet yesterday September 28. I have been worried about it however Koko doesn’t bother it or I think he doesn’t care that it’s there. That is how he acts about it. Of course the lump is on his leg he has had so many problems with in the past.

Jeff found a vet hospital that is a little from us. The vets here in our town I do not trust. One of them you can tell they are for the money. This vet hospital you get the sense that they care about the animals. I thought for a hospital it would cost a lot. I was surprised how low the cost was and they didn’t charge for getting his nail trimmed. I think either they didn’t communicate with each other or that we got some bad news that day.

The vet knew her stuff! She straight forward and didn’t use big terms we didn’t understand. First she told us that it most likely cancer and it sits on his main bone. She could do surgery however where it is would be messy and they couldn’t stitch it up all the way because of the location not enough skin. So the healing time would be long. She asked if we wanted to do an x-ray and the answer was YES! Got to find out. Then awe!!! Heart-wrenching we could hear Koko whining and crying as they took the x-ray in a different room. I think he would have been okay if we went with him but we couldn’t. I felt bad. When he came back he coward over by Jeff.

First time ever! First time Koko was scared of the vet even before anything happened. Usually he kisses the vet and is happy but not yesterday he was scared. It’s like he knew it was going to be bad.

When the vet came back she told yes he definitely he has a high chance of cancer. She didn’t want to test the lump because she said that to take some could make it angry then progress faster. We didn’t want that. I didn’t know this but a dog’s leg has two bones. The one that is bigger holds all their weight and the second is for agility. She said the second bone was thinner then it should be. That is another indicator of cancer. She said we could go down to Milwaukee to see a specialist. Otherwise she basically stated “Koko is an happy old lab.” We agree he is. He doesn’t let a whole lot of things bother him and he is a happy dog.

Since he is 11 years old we decided to go with what the vet said. Just keep an eye on it and let him be himself. We will just go back to normal life with Koko.

Look at him isn’t he super cute! He doesn’t like his picture taken but he let me have this one.
