Father’s Day

Yesterday was Father’s Day and we had a good time. We had both dad’s at our house like every year now.  We are task with Father’s day and that is fine by us. Jeff made an awesome spread! He made beer brats, bbq chicken which was my favorite, pickle salad also very yummy, beans which was a hit and dessert. It was a fruit dessert with jello and I hate jello. So Ken and Elena brought me some yummy bakery cookies.

We had a good visit. We got Ken $20 gift certificate to DQ. Like I have stated before been working on dolls for my dad and Adam helped me design his. Here they are:

I thought of DAD  which is D for dad, A for Adam and D for Danielle. Clever I think!

I also wrote my dad a letter that I will share. He was surprised and love it.

Dad,

I wanted to write this instead of saying. This way I can get out all I want to say to you.

I want to thank you for all things you have taught me in my life. As I get older I have noticed things about others that now I am glad you taught me.

Thank you for making me do things when I was younger even though at the time I didn’t want to do them. Even when I complained about doing those things.

Thank you for making me do and fold laundry. Even though I still do not fold pants the greatest. Ask Jeff. Ha!

Thank you for letting me help you paint. Yes I was really messy at doing it when I was younger which created some great memories! I have gotten a lot better at it even though I still make a little mess painting. However I do like painting just not prep work but then again who does?

Thank you for making me clean gutters and doing yard work such as mowing the lawn. I dislike mowing the lawn but at least I can do it. I have to say I am good at it.

Thank you for making me use tools. Yes I still say do you need the star or the flat head screwdriver? However at least I know what a screwdriver is. I know how to hang up pictures and use tools in general. I wouldn’t say I know what every tool does but I am not afraid of them and want to learn when Jeff and I do projects. Jeff and I have encountered people who don’t know what screwdriver is or any other tools. Makes me think I am glad my dad taught me about them and made me use them when I was younger.

Thank you for teaching me how to drive! That was a hard task for me. I remember my driving instructor thought I needed more lessons. But you helped me prove him wrong. You are right I drive like you and I have to say I think we drive great.

Thank you for teaching me how to change a tire. I still know how! Even though those lug nuts are hard to get off. Teaching me about a car in general has helped. I admit I don’t know a lot about cars but I get the concepts of them.

You are a great dad! You have taught me a lot more than this. I wanted to point out the things you taught me in my life that has helped me. There will never be enough words to say how much I love and appreciate you!

Mother’s Day

Mother’s day was fun and strange at the same time.

We ended up at Chrissy’s house. My brother in law cannot cook chicken yet he wants to cook chicken for every family gathering. I was having a hard time eating the one piece that I had. It was a bloody chicken. Ew! Good thing there was other stuff to eat. I found out Chrissy was in a commercial! As soon as I can find it I will put it in here. It’s a funny commercial about windows.

It was a very nice day for Mother’s day it was sunny and hot, we all got to sit outside. I got sunburn all over but it was still a good time. So we are chatting and Kim gets up and says “Time to go. So I can go home sit on my couch and watch Netflix.” Isn’t that a strange thing to say to leave?! I would never say anything like that but that is Kim. She wasn’t even there for two hours and she had to leave. That was the strange.

I am glad we got to have Mother’s day at someone house because no way we were going to a restaurant and you know why.

Happy birthday!

On March 31st we celebrated Scotty and Koko’s birthday. Scotty turned 10 and Koko turned 12.

Since we are unsure when Scotty’s birthday day is exactly we celebrate them on the same day. We do know what year he was born so we can keep track. So why not have their birthday on the same day? They got doggy ice cream for their birthday. Here is cute pics of them:

Happy Easter!

Today is Easter!

This is a different Easter. Usually we go to my parents house to celebrate and be together but no parents this time. They are in Florida with my sister and her family having a great time. So this year it’s just Jeff and I and I am fine with that. I think we are going to watch Coco. I really want to see that.

I made tiny chicks.

I am making more for my sister in law for a present. These are fun and easy to make.

Happy New Year!

It’s another year and I made it! I am still here. Yay!

This year I am continuing to lose more weight. I hope one day I will be like I am good but for now more losing.

On January first we went to my sister’s house. We laughed about how Corey wasn’t coming to this party either. Jeff said something funny. He said “Kim posted something super funny on FB. She said said maybe to the party.” Lol oh Jeff!

The party was for the other side of the family. My mom’s side who we don’t see all that often. There is a reason for that. My aunt Terry was in town she now lives in Texas. That is the reason why we went even though I really didn’t want too. The reason we don’t see that side is because they are not fun to be around. They are judgy but they are strange. They give me a strange feeling.

At the party I felt super awkward! First my Aunt Terry who haven’t seen in years, sort of judged me. She asked where I worked. Yup that look I love so much came into play. Of course being sarcastic. I hurried and used my super power of changing the subject to her and kept her talking about herself.  All their kids came and I haven’t seen them since they were little kids. Now they are all grown up and one of them is engaged. When they all started to come in they weren’t very nice. They acted like the rest of us didn’t exist. They all gathered at a table and talked with each other. That to me is snobbish. And my mom wonders why I don’t like her side of the family. Also my aunts and uncles only some of them talked to us. I should say me because Jeff and Andy were gabbing about computers the whole time. Even when I wanted to leave Jeff wanted to stay and talk to Andy. Even though for a week he has been complaining about going to this party. I couldn’t wait to leave, I kept checking my watch. I said we are staying for two hours so we stayed for two hours.

Great start to the New Year, not.

Merry Christmas

There are some things I didn’t like. I didn’t like we didn’t pray before our meal. I know not everyone believes in God but we ALWAYS pray before the Christmas meal. Also felt a bit rushed as well. We usually sit around the table and we all eat but not this year. The kids sat elsewhere being brats of course and us at the table. So that part sucked.

After the meal Santa came and then it was a mad house! All the kids tearing into their presents. Not saying thank you or saying who they were from, like always. The kids didn’t get the bears I made had gift cards in them. Thought that was stupid. They took the gifts cards out and said “what’s this?” Ugh. That was dumb. We didn’t get a thank you either. At this point it is what it is. But I think it’s rude that they don’t.

After that, that is when it got silly. My sister drank too much I think. She was getting louder and she was funny! We stayed for a long time with them.

Christmas Day we went over to my cousin’s house. It’s always a bit awkward when we go. Because it’s in his basement and his basement isn’t that big. It’s always jammed packed full of people that we don’t know. We only stay for a couple of hours. I think next year we are not going to go. We got to see my brother’s girlfriend Kaela. But I don’t understand why we can’t see her later.

By the way we gave her, her present.

She loved it.

Cute pic time:

Thus another year done for Christmas.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was different. First there were no kids at my Aunt’s house which is a first in a really long time. When Jeff and I got there it was a line of hugs which is nice. Then everyone was asking me if my parents were coming. I was teasing and saying they weren’t but they were. My Aunt later told me which by this time my parents still haven’t arrived that my mom got upset a couple of days before and told her she wasn’t coming. I didn’t know that and I was joking before. Finally my parents arrived and my mom was in good spirits. After that we usually pray but this time we prayed in a circle holding hands. I thought it to be a bit strange but whatever. Then we ate and there was actually enough food this time.

While sitting around chatting with everyone my cousin Julie who I totally like. Asked if I was coming along? I had no idea where I was going but Jeff and I decided to go just like that. I really do believe if Julie wasn’t there, I wouldn’t have gone to where ever we were going. She is so nice! Always including everyone unlike some of my other cousins. We were going to see my cousin Jack whom I have never met before in my life, who is my third cousin. He just built a brand new house and we were going to go see it.

It was a nice house! Wow! Could tell they spent a lot of money on it.

However my cousin Jack is really full of himself. He couldn’t stop bragging about this or that. Which it’s his new house, and we get that but just the way he was talking about it was way over the top. Also I thought this was rude. He handed out these little containers of spices that he had made to everyone except Jeff and I. He could have easily put in a baggie and gave us some. Then he went on and on about this spice he made. I thought that was really rude and I would have never done that. I would feel guilty that not everyone got some.

After that we back to my Aunt’s house to play the annual poker. I brought about $10 of coins to play. OH man! Between Jeff and I we lost about that. However it was so fun to play with everyone and that is what’s important.

I know not the greatest pics. The first one is my dad, Julie then my Uncle Dan. I couldn’t get Jared who is sitting to my right and just had to have a pitcher of water. Ha! Jeff is to the left of me.

Everyone liked the pies and apple was the first to go.

Jeff did a great job.

It was a good Thanksgiving.

The next day Jeff and I had our Thanksgiving and watch our Thanksgiving movie which is Planes, Trains and Automobiles. We love that movie!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving! We are at my Aunt’s house all day. We were actually task with making pies! Can you believe it?! It’s crazy that my aunt wanted us to make pies. She would never do that all of the time I have known her which is all of my life. Well later I will tell you how Thanksgiving went.

Yum pie.

Happy Halloween

Today is Halloween! We celebrated Halloween on Saturday and watched the Conjuring 2. I picked it out this year. I  have to say it was scary! The nun in the movie scared me so much! I haven’t been that scared since The Ring. Then later I watched the Babysitter on Netflix. Yes I liked this movie. It was comedy horror.

Earlier we also carved our pumpkins.

Jeff did this one:

I did these:

The cat was the hardest one I have ever carved ever. I don’t think it turned out so well as my scary face though. Also Jeff free hand his. He always complains doing pumpkins then his always turns out amazing!

Jeff’s pumpkin came from Walmart it was the roundest pumpkin we have ever seen. I picked up my pumpkins from a local farm. The only difference is Jeff’s had a hard shell where my was soft. We all had a lot of seeds in our pumpkins too which is awesome!

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday Jeff and I celebrated 10 years of marriage!

We went on a date and it was great. We went to Long Horn in Green Bay to celebrate.

Jeff got me my favorite flowers Carnations! There is a Carnation for every year we have been married. He’s so good at that stuff.

I got Jeff a five square picture of us. I would take a pic but it’s very reflective.
