I have been thinking lately. It would be nice if someone asked me how I was doing. I am always the listener but rarely the listened to. It gets tiring after a while. That is just how I have been feeling lately. This also goes with why I don’t think I am an interesting person. Jeff said I am but he can be biased. lol!

I watched three scary movies in a row and that’s super rare. I also watched 2 fun movies as well. I have been wanting to watch something scary and just couldn’t find anything super scary. I finally watched Halloween Ends. Can that be the end? Ugh, those movies are so very stupid. But I can say I have watched all the Halloween movies. I watched on Netflix Choose or Die. It was scary but not super scary but fun! I also watched on Tubi Borely Rectory 2017. That was fun! It was live-action animation. I love that stuff! Then I watched on Tubi Hell House LLC trilogy really scared me. That’s rare to have three movies in a series that is equally scary and even more so scarier than the first. I thought Hell House LLC 2 was the scariest!

Resident Evil

You know what a big fan of Resident Evil I am. So I really wanted to see the new movie Resident Evil Welcome to Racoon.

First going to the theater was dumb. We had to wait for 10 or was it 20 minutes to get snacks. Because some guy decided to buy a ton of gift cards. Why couldn’t he do it at the ticket counter or why didn’t the manager help this guy so that others could get snacks? Another thing is they never turned off the lights so we could actually watch the movie. The movie was dark and it was hard to see it with the stupid lights on.

The movie was TERRIBLE! None of the storylines made sense. They cramped in Resident Evil 1,2 and Code Veronica for some reason. They picked the wrong actors to play any of the characters as well. It was so extremely disappointing and terrible. I don’t understand with all the story material no one can seem to make a good Resident Evil live-action movie.

The only best part of going to the theater was going with Jeff.

Happy Halloween

Today I have three movie reviews. Let’s get to it!

Let’s start with a good one first:

Zombieland Double Tap 2019 In Theaters Rating 4

Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock move to the America’s heartland. In this adventure they go up against evolved zombies and find other survivors. Also while surviving their own family that they see in each other.

If you liked the first one you will like this one. It’s just as silly and fun as the first one. I didn’t know how they could make a sequel but here it is. Watch all the way to the end. There is bonus scenes.

If you are into zombies and horror comedy this is something to see this year, 2019.

On to the okay:

Eli 2019 Netflix Rating 3

A couple who has a son who has an auto-immune disease seeks treatment for him in a creepy old mansion.

Why why WHY?! Cracking bones and a girl all twisted in this movie. I hate that! It creeps me out! Yeah so there is one of those. Ghosts in the mansion, I guess.

At first there is jump scares and they scared me. Then they totally over do it in this movie. In the middle of the movie I could see them coming and made me laugh. Scary yes in the beginning, middle laughable and the end was like this “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!”

I hate the end of this movie and the whole premise of this movie. The twist in my opinion sucks.

Now the terrible:

Slaughterhouse Rulez 2018 Redbox Rating 2

A British boarding school is also fracking in the woods. Unleashes terror on the school.

Simon Pegg doesn’t mean always greatest movie. Too bad because this movie is beautiful looking. The acting is also great. The concept meh. I knew it was going to be a monster movie even though it doesn’t say. As it is classified as action/horror. But really it isn’t scary not even a little bit.

Hocus Pocus 1993 DVD or Streaming Rating 2

A family moves to Salem from California and the young boy struggles to fit in. He meets a pretty girl and they go to a museum and he lights a candle unleashing three witches on Halloween.

This is a typical 90’s movie and not practically a great movie. But April loves to watch this every Halloween and it’s our tradition to do so.

Like I said it’s so 90’s and even uses 90’s slang. Tubular dude!

If anyone wants to see a 90’s kid’s movie for Halloween, I am not sure this is it. There has to be better movies out there. But it does have three popular actresses from the 90’s in it. So that is something. Maybe? It’s silly and laughable in this day in age but not a super terrible movie.

The Terror Season 2 AMC Rating 5

Wow! Season 2 was even better than season 1 if that is possible.

Season 2 is about World War 2 when America is against Japan. This story follows a family with a dark secret. A “demon” follows them from Japan to America. The story mostly surrounds their son Chester and how the “demon” affects him. The story takes place mostly in a camp where America puts Japanese people during the war. Even goes a bit into when America drops the 2 nuclear bombs on Hiroshima.

All the acting is great! The chemistry between all the characters and the scenery are all so great as well.

This is a must see. It’s not so much scary however there are some jump scares. More of a creepy atmosphere and understanding of what’s going on.

House of the Witch Netflix Rating 2

A group of young adults on Halloween go to house to prank each other. Once they enter they find they can’t leave.

I had to watch at least one B movie and this is it!

There is creepy witch who can walk the spider walk. Creepy sounds, check. Young adults who make dumb decisions, check. Jump scares, check.

This movie isn’t that great but the acting is pretty good. The visual effects are okay. The story generic.

Good movie to have on the background while doing other things.

Overlord 2018 Redbox Rating 4

The day before D-Day paratroopers are in the air over France. Their plane gets shot out of the sky and they have to jump out. They land in enemy territory and not all make it.

The real terror is what the Nazi’s are doing to the citizen’s this French town.

This movie is beautiful! Someone had some money behind this. The acting is great! Even the story isn’t too bad. This movie is worth a watch.

I wasn’t really all that scared but just everything about this movie is good. However I do have one complaint it’s dark. Understand this is happening in night but they could have lighten it up for the audience to see. Other than that there are some moments that are intense!

Brightburn 2019 Redbox Rating 2

A child from a different planet crashes to earth and a couple raises it. (Sounds like Superman) However it’s the villain.

Meh! This movie is not worth watching. The characters I have no sympathy for. There isn’t enough character development for me to care either way. The child who plays the villain did alright.

It wasn’t super terrible but it wasn’t good as well.

Flu 2013 Korean Amazon Prime Rating 3

An airborne virus flies through Korea. Zombies! Well sort of.

There are no zombies walking around or hurting people. The virus is airborne making people sick so the government takes drastic measures to contain it. This movie has great character development in it. Going through the city is great. The story is good.

It’s more of a drama then a zombie flick. That’s why I give it a solid 3. Don’t expect more than it is. However it’s in Korean. Watch in Korean with subtitles.

In the Tall Grass 2019 Netflix Rating 3

A pregnant woman and her brother stop on the side of a road in front of a field of tall grass. They hear a young boy calling for help and they go in to help. Then they get stuck in the maze of the tall grass. Also the grass isn’t all it seems.

This is a mix bag movie. It has good acting and good atmosphere but the story for me was…meh.

You won’t be scared but if you want to check out another Stephen King story. This may be something to watch.
