The Witch (2015) Netflix Rating 2

This movie is well done with the acting and the set. It’s supposed to be authentic except the women. LOL! I say that because I watched on YouTube how the creator wanted it all to be right in the time period. But apparently women always had great eyebrows and shaved.

It’s the 1600’s and this family is banned from their colony. They move out on some land near a forest which Witches live. Then they become cursed and things happen.

I didn’t really like this movie also I didn’t understand the ending too much. I had to watch YouTube to understand. When I did, I thought it was just okay.

The older daughter goes to loving God to questioning her faith then decides the devil is better.

It’s a beautiful movie but I wouldn’t watch this again. Also I thought it was pronounced Vitch because the cover is this VVitch trying to be fancy.

Pet Sematary (2019) Redbox Rating 3

I have read the book and saw the original a couple of times. This a remake and the changes made just for the sake of horror.

There is this strange detail that makes me wonder why they made this one death change. It doesn’t make any real sense to me. Pointing this out doesn’t ruin the movie because if you know anything about Pet Sematary you will wonder too.

The character Zelda’s death. It doesn’t make any sense to me in the remake of this movie. She dies in a dumb waiter but how? She has spinal meningitis so how does someone who is bed ridden get in the dumb waiter?

There are many changes they made in this film other than Zelda’s death I don’t find them terrible. I found that the main character Louis was bland. Other than that it was pretty good.

I recommend a watch but don’t expect to be blown away.

I guess technically 32 Days of scary since I had to start September 30th. Lol!

Rating system is 1 it’s terrible to 5 really great, a must see. I will also include where to see it.

Afflicted (2013) Amazon Prime Rating 4

Two friends who are also the makers of the movie. One friend Derek is dying and his friend Cliff want to take a trip around the world together since it may be the last time they can together. One of them gets bitten by a vampire.

I thought oh no not another vampire movie however the way they do this movie is great! I really like the idea of it. As one transform into a vampire the other friend films the transformation as they are trying to figure out what happened to him. They don’t know that he is a vampire. It doesn’t take long to set up the film either which is nice!

I would recommend a watch of this one.

The Final Wish Redbox Rating 1

Watch the trailer looks scary right?! I want to rename this film to The Final Snooze Wish. Because I wished to take a nap through this film than waste my time.

What was in the trailer with the old woman in the kitchen is what made me want to see this film. That scene didn’t even show up! Ugh! Took too long to set this film up as well.

A guy from (Twilight) comes back home because his father passed away. He comes home to attend the funeral and help his mom. His father was a collector of stuff basically. There is a strange looking item that grants wishes but has consequence (of course).

He wishes a series of things and doesn’t realize all the terrible things is his fault. Then he finds his father’s partner and he says. Don’t make 7 wishes otherwise it will have your soul. (Is it nap time yet?) There are a few jump scares but that is it. The end is lame as well.

This movie I recommend skipping.

Kung Fu Movies

I LOVE Kung Fu movies. Sometimes I get in the mood to watch them and technically they are Martial Art Movies. Since I don’t speak any of the languages in them I have to really pay attention so only sometimes I am in the mood to watch them. That time is now. Lol!

I will do scoring of 1-10. 1 being terrible no human should watch this. 10 being great and everyone who loves Kung Fu movies should watch it.

I Googled what to watch because I have seen so many in my lifetime.

Google suggested: The Final Master

The Final Master 8/10. Netflix.The story to me is messed up. I don’t really understand why they put a love interest in here. And really it isn’t a love anyways. All I can think of they wanted to show the Master has a tender side.

Here is a funny the woman says in the beginning she states she won’t be there for sex. Next scene they are having sex. WHAT?! ROFL!

Anyway it they should have eliminated the woman and just focus on the Master finding student to compete against all the other academies. Which look out betrayal! It does have great martial arts in it! I want to be entertained in a story and have the fighting incorporated in it. I didn’t like the end as it just ends. I down grade because of the story and end. However still a good Kung Fu movie.

Killzone 2 9/10. Netflix. This movie may go by another name but in America on Netflix that is what it’s called. I loved this movie! The beginning I don’t like too much. I know they were trying to make the bad guy be hated but really they could have done it better.

The bad guy as soon as he showed up I was like “I know that guy!” Lol! I have seen him in other movies. Of course the Grandmaster! If you do look him up Jin Zhang you will see he has been in a ton of movies!

I gave this movie a high score because of the amount of fight scenes in this movie is plentiful. You don’t have to wait long to see one either. The end fight scene is one of the best! I seriously watched it a couple of times. It’s just so awesome! The story is okay that’s why 9 out of 10. It’s very close to being perfect movie though.

Railroad Tigers 10/10. Netflix. This movie rocks! It’s not as serious as the others. Has some slapstick humor and honestly had me laughing.

Two words JACKIE. CHAN! Jackie Chan is in it. Oh man! I haven’t seen a Jackie Chan movie in a very long time. He can still kick some ass. I love the style of this movie. It has art when it introduces a character. Love it!

In this movie is Chinese and Japanese speaking. It’s so funny how the characters interact when they don’t know what the others are saying. That is a lot of the humor. And it IS funny!

There is fighting on a train. I mean how awesome is that?! It’s awesome! Not all Kung Fu movies need to be serious and this movie doesn’t take it’s self too seriously. Also watch all the way to the end they show bloopers.

Detective Dee the Four Heavenly Kings 9/10. Netflix. I am not always so keen on fantasy Kung Fu movies. However this is a good one. It’s Sherlock and Dr. Watson in this form. Also didn’t know this but this is the latest in it’s series. There are two movies before this one which I have to see now.

This movie has it all monsters, magic and Kung Fu! I love the visuals in this movie as well. It has a mystery of course it has to because it’s loosely based on Sherlock. Of course Detective Dee has to figure it out. This is a great movie!

Master Z: Ip Man Legacy 3/10. Netflix. I don’t care what others think of this movie. This movie is TERRIBLE! I give it a three because of the fighting alone. This movie is piggy backing on Ip Man movies which are incredible! I am a Donnie Yen fan. I have seen most of his movies and the man was in Star Wars. STAR WARS!

This movie is trying too hard and the story is terrible as it’s generic. It’s too bad because Jin Zhang is the main character in this movie. He is a good actor and fighter but this movie doesn’t do his abilities any good.

If you haven’t seen Ip Man 3 GO watch it now! Donnie Yen versus Mike Tyson. Master Z tries the same with a big guy. Ugh as soon as I saw that guy I knew right away that Cheung the main character was going to fight him. Like I said they were trying hard to out live Ip Man in general and it felt flat.



Life

Lately I have been watching movies. I watched the most boring stupidest movie. The Nutcracker and the four realms. Now I like the Nutcracker and wow the story was dumb and the acting was terrible. It felt very flat which is sad because this movie is pretty.

Venom I wasn’t sure if I would like this movie and it was good! Tom Hardy is an awesome actor! The movie isn’t dark which is good and the action is great.

Won’t you be my neighbor is about Mister Rogers and I use to watch him as a kid. Great documentary about him and I really didn’t know that much about him. Interesting man.

Ghost in the Shell wasn’t too sure on this one as I know it’s an anime. I never read it but I know a little about it. I actually liked it and the story. Had great actors in it. What I thought was strange that they had Scarlett Johansson who is a great actress but the end her being actually Asian thought it was strange. They should had an Asian actress play her.

Ralph breaks the internet this movie was very funny! The first movie was good but this was great! Jeff even watched this one with me and he didn’t see the first. You don’t really have too. Oh it was so great!

Swiss army man this movie is funny and strange at the same time. At the end I wondered what did you just see?!

Scooby Doo and the gourmet ghost I like Scooby Doo movies but this one was really boring. It also has Bobby Flay in it but still couldn’t make this one good.

Scooby Doo and the 13th ghost terrible movie as well. This has classic tropes in it and it was really boring.

Avengers Infinity War

Jeff and I saw the Avengers Infinity War on Thursday May 24 at 9:45 in the morning. It was the one of the best movies I have seen this year! This movie was way better than the second one. I totally love Robert Downey Jr and Chris Pratt they had the funny charisma! I hope we get to see more of those two in the next movie!

Jeff was surprised about Dr. Strange. He refused to see his movie because he thought it was going to be stupid. But he found out he likes Dr. Strange. Maybe I can convince him to watch Dr. Strange. I would watch it again. Come on that cape is funny!

I didn’t know we were going to go see the Avengers but I did see the Black Panther earlier that week. I wasn’t disappointed on the story because I heard others didn’t like it as well. So it was an okay movie. I like how I got to learn about the Black Panther but it wasn’t anything special. His suit is cool though and the technology. So when he showed up in the Avengers I did understand better.

Wow I so love this movie and I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD!

Happy Halloween

Today is Halloween! We celebrated Halloween on Saturday and watched the Conjuring 2. I picked it out this year. I  have to say it was scary! The nun in the movie scared me so much! I haven’t been that scared since The Ring. Then later I watched the Babysitter on Netflix. Yes I liked this movie. It was comedy horror.

The cat was the hardest one I have ever carved ever. I don’t think it turned out so well as my scary face though. Also Jeff free hand his. He always complains doing pumpkins then his always turns out amazing!

Jeff’s pumpkin came from Walmart it was the roundest pumpkin we have ever seen. I picked up my pumpkins from a local farm. The only difference is Jeff’s had a hard shell where my was soft. We all had a lot of seeds in our pumpkins too which is awesome!

TV/Movies

I have a new favorite TV show. Preacher! I can’t wait every week to see it. I love how gory it is and the characters are awesome! I don’t read comic books so I don’t know what will happen but I heard it’s pretty close to the comic. Also the woman who plays Tulip is awesome she is my favorite character of the show. Tulip is such a bad ass.

So you know when you look up a show you see what the actors played in. I saw the woman who plays Tulip and the guy who plays Cassidy played in the show Misfits. I have been watching that too. It’s funny because I saw it on either Amazon or Netflix and it looked good but then forgot about it. OH! Misfits is an amazing show! Each episode has it’s own unique story line plus it adds all that someone watches up till then. I started two weeks ago and I am in the third season and there is five seasons. There isn’t a character on the show that I don’t like. Too bad there is only five seasons. I hope it ends good.

Speaking of ending shows Turn. I loved that show as it’s a history show about the Revolutionary War. Not just that it was about spies. It’s funny because if someone didn’t know about the Revolutionary War you would really think some of the characters would die but in history they don’t. It’s like having an insight of the show. The way that it ended was perfect! Couldn’t ask for the perfect ending of a show.

Jeff and I started watching the Fear of Walking dead. We tried watching that show before and it was boring! But one of Jeff’s co-workers said keep watching it gets better. So we did and now we are going to catch up to this year. It has a lot of action in it even though me watching so many zombie movies there are some real dumb things the characters do as well.

On Friday Jeff and I went to see Atomic Blonde. I really wanted to see it on the big screen. I have to say the story was a bit confusing in parts. The action though made up for that. It was great! She kicked so much ass.

Life

Not a whole lot going on lately. Was supposed to work on the house but Jeff had to work this weekend. Also I didn’t feel well woman problems. So this weekend I watched some movies. I have been watching a lot of zombie movies lately and finding out how much shit is out there. Why is it so hard to find a good zombie movie?

I did find not a zombie movie more alien which is good too. It was called Plan 9. I didn’t know it was sort of a remake mixed with other zombie references in it. It was cheesy fun and shot very well. Since I didn’t know it was sort of a remake I had to look up the original. It’s called Plan 9 from Outer Space. I looked up the reviews on IMDB and the reviews weren’t great but some where good. I loved it! It was also cheesy fun. I actually liked it better than the sort of remake. That movie is a keeper. I would definitely watch that again.

I also came across a pretty good zombie movie. It’s called Dead Weight. Sometimes I come across some pretty good zombie movies. I thought the movie was good because it showed more of the human condition then the actual zombies. Which you don’t really see the zombies but you hear them. I think those zombie movies are just as good, still gives that creepy factor. It’s centered around the character Charlie.  He literally does everything he can to get to his girlfriend during the zombie apocalypse but also shows their relationship before then. He did things where people do not come back from kind of stuff to get to his girlfriend. In the end it shows how unfair people can be towards one other. What I thought was funny in this movie was he had to get to Wausau Wisconsin. It didn’t say that in the description so when he said it, I was laughing. I was like no way in Wisconsin! Good funny there. However good zombie physiological movie.

Jeff and I watched Get Out. I have to say I wasn’t expecting the twists in that movie! Totally got us off guard. We both figured out the first one that was easy but all the others and the end! What?! Great movie! The description goes just saying it’s an interracial thing but it’s way more than that. Wow freaky! I would so recommend this movie to anyone.

Resident Evil

OMG! Resident Evil!

I am doing a happy dance. Resident Evil came out with another movie Vendetta! I so loved it! Finally another animated movie.

They made Chris younger looking. I like it, I like his new look. I was thinking that Chris looked to have too much muscle and old sort of. I mean technically he would be older but in Resident Evil 6 he was not looking too good. I so hope they keep him looking like this. I love it as he is one of my 3 favorite characters.

Yes I am still sad Wesker is dead. He was the ultimate bad guy.

Finally a movie with Rebecca Chambers! She is one of those characters that I wonder about. Like where does she fit in as the series moves on and how come they put her more into the series. She is a wonderful character.

Of course it had Leon. Have to have Leon! I like he is a complicated character and really never looks any different. He is such a badass.

I like how they improved the zombie. Zombie walking dead but more improved as they can target friend or foe. Now come on that is pretty damn cool! The villain was good too and totally had the grotesque monster as Resident Evil always have.

Oh they had the zombie dogs! Thinking of zombie dogs those things are hard to kill. In the game would always jump scare me as they come out of nowhere.

Please keep making animated Resident Evil movies.
