Father’s Day

Yesterday was Father’s Day and we had a good time. We had both dad’s at our house like every year now.  We are task with Father’s day and that is fine by us. Jeff made an awesome spread! He made beer brats, bbq chicken which was my favorite, pickle salad also very yummy, beans which was a hit and dessert. It was a fruit dessert with jello and I hate jello. So Ken and Elena brought me some yummy bakery cookies.

We had a good visit. We got Ken $20 gift certificate to DQ. Like I have stated before been working on dolls for my dad and Adam helped me design his. Here they are:

I thought of DAD  which is D for dad, A for Adam and D for Danielle. Clever I think!

I also wrote my dad a letter that I will share. He was surprised and love it.

Dad,

I wanted to write this instead of saying. This way I can get out all I want to say to you.

I want to thank you for all things you have taught me in my life. As I get older I have noticed things about others that now I am glad you taught me.

Thank you for making me do things when I was younger even though at the time I didn’t want to do them. Even when I complained about doing those things.

Thank you for making me do and fold laundry. Even though I still do not fold pants the greatest. Ask Jeff. Ha!

Thank you for letting me help you paint. Yes I was really messy at doing it when I was younger which created some great memories! I have gotten a lot better at it even though I still make a little mess painting. However I do like painting just not prep work but then again who does?

Thank you for making me clean gutters and doing yard work such as mowing the lawn. I dislike mowing the lawn but at least I can do it. I have to say I am good at it.

Thank you for making me use tools. Yes I still say do you need the star or the flat head screwdriver? However at least I know what a screwdriver is. I know how to hang up pictures and use tools in general. I wouldn’t say I know what every tool does but I am not afraid of them and want to learn when Jeff and I do projects. Jeff and I have encountered people who don’t know what screwdriver is or any other tools. Makes me think I am glad my dad taught me about them and made me use them when I was younger.

Thank you for teaching me how to drive! That was a hard task for me. I remember my driving instructor thought I needed more lessons. But you helped me prove him wrong. You are right I drive like you and I have to say I think we drive great.

Thank you for teaching me how to change a tire. I still know how! Even though those lug nuts are hard to get off. Teaching me about a car in general has helped. I admit I don’t know a lot about cars but I get the concepts of them.

You are a great dad! You have taught me a lot more than this. I wanted to point out the things you taught me in my life that has helped me. There will never be enough words to say how much I love and appreciate you!
