Went to Jeff’s grandpa’s funeral on Wednesday. I have to say the shortest funeral I have ever attended and it was by design. That is what he wanted something short and no fuss. The priest was pretty good too.
Met a lot of people I will never see again and have never met before. But I have to say there was no drama and everyone was friendly. The funeral home was very nice as well.
Expect for one thing the weather. It rained so hard! We all met at the cemetery even in the rain. Afterwards Jeff’s dad and wife and us went out to eat.
Saturday during the day we celebrated my mom’s birthday. Time to tell rude sister in law moment again. So Mom, Jeff, Chrissy and I are at the table talking and having a good time. My mom says “Hey Kim come over here and sit with us and talk.” Kim ignores her to play with her phone instead. Mom said it twice and she completely ignores her. Rude much?!
Anyways it was good time to celebrate with my mom, she turned 64.
The sad….at about seven o’clock at night we get a call from Ken telling us that his dad isn’t doing so good. Asked if we wanted to meet him at the nursing home. We went and about quarter to 9 Ken’s dad died. It was sad.
Now for the messed up part.
Jeff’s cousin Mark comes with Ken’s ex girlfriend…strange right and a bit awkward. Even more so I didn’t remember her at all. Jeff had to tell me later. Yeah so Ken’s nephew is dating his ex girlfriend. That’s not awkward at all right…..yikes! Also Mark didn’t even give Jeff a hug at all just ignored him. WTF! Why does family have to be so weird at times? Also Jeff’s brother didn’t show up even though we all live in the same town! SMH!
Ken gave Jeff such a nice compliment. He told Jeff you are always there for me. I was likeOMG! What a great thing to say.
FINALLY Tex has his cone off. That thing was annoying! I literally have bruises on all over my legs from him running into me.
What’s strange Tex grew again! When we took off the cone. We both swear he is taller now. Lol! Does he ever stop? Too cute and funny he is!
I know it’s the beginning of September but I am getting ready my Halloween folder for scary! I decided I am going to blog on 31 days of scary! And oooo I can’t wait to see Doctor Sleep! I am actually going to go see that in theaters by myself when it comes out. I am waiting to get the book too. The sequel to the Shining! You know I am going to watch the Shining as well. Just have too.
Mom tasked me to plan for her birthday this weekend. Well her bday is the 9th but that is in the week. So so far it’s just me, Jeff, Mom, Dad and my sister and kids. I have no idea if my older brother and family are coming. I will be surprised if my sister in law shows up. She might have to watch Netflix instead. LOL!
For Keto Jeff lost 50 pounds!!! Proud of him. I am still sitting at 11 pounds. However I have lost more around myself. So I am happy with that.
Friday August 23 we got Tex neutered. We brought him home the next day and wasn’t happy with us. LOL! First time I saw him mad. I don’t why but I find that funny! Tex mad means staring at us then turning his back to us. OMG! LOL!
He kept trying to get out of his cone. So we used clips to keep in place. This is the face of I hate you! LOL! Also when he runs into us those clips hurt. I got some bruises and so does Jeff. We did get him a different cone set up. Waiting for Amazon to get here.
Also on Friday Jeff and I went to Regina’s cabin who is Jeff friend and boss. It’s cool be friends with her. However I thought when Jeff said that were going to sit by a fire, I thought nice area to sit near the fire. Not the case we sat on a slope. It was uncomfortable to say the least. It was nice to see their cabin and to see the water.
Regina and her husband Jim are nice people. Jim is retired and Regina is younger than him. I think in her late 50’s. I am not sure though because I am horrible judging people’s age. So older than us. They have to cute doggies too.
Sunday August 18 I went to April’s horse show. Back up on Saturday August 17 is when I got to April’s house. We had to get up at 4 in the morning on Sunday. So. Tired. When we got to the Wade House which is where we were, a storm was brewing. Sure enough it stormed at 9 o’clock in the morning and the show had to be pushed back further. A lot of people left which made sense but that also meant April would go ahead of schedule.
April was totally nervous because it was her first time carriage driving in a show. This show was different then she has ever done because not everyone gets a ribbon. In my own opinion I thought she did good, for being her first time competing. Yes she lost but that doesn’t really matter. She tried and that is what counts. Also love her outfit!
The lady in white is April’s friend Faden and her pony Schmedley. It was a fun but wet day.
Unfortunately when getting ready to leave April got a phone call that her uncle had just passed away from a heart attack. Terrible way to end that day.
Oh! Great news! April is in remission for her cancer. She went to Mayo Clinic to her alcohol shot and found out she didn’t need too! AWESOME!
For the last week we have been looking at SUV’s. I hate car shopping! Anyways our Explorer needed work and we debated on doing them or just get something different. I was like I don’t want to put anymore money in the Explorer and Jeff agreed.
We test drove the Toyota Highlander I think it was a 2010 and I loved it! We went to this one dealer and they pissed me off greatly! We walked around their lot for 40 minutes and no one ever came out to talk to us. They had one Toyota Highlander and guess what? Another couple drove it before and wanted to take it home. I was pissed because we were in their lot for so long! We would have gotten that because it was fun to drive and I liked it.
This place is called Specialty Auto Salesand Service I recommend no one going there really. They have terrible customer service! I was pretty mad and told one of them “Hey we were out there for 40 minutes.” The one guy Dave just looked at me like whatever.
However Specialty Auto Salesand Service had the Dodge Durango. Ugh I was pissed that Jeff wanted to go back. When we went back the second time we test drove the Dodge Durango and it was fun to drive. This time we dealt with the guy named Gary. He was nice but awkward at the same time.
Then Jeff and I talked about it and finally Jeff talked me into getting that Dodge Durango. I really, really wanted the Toyota Highlander like bad! It has been a very long time that I wanted, well not in a very long time like the first time ever I really wanted a vehicle specifically. I really, really wanted the Toyota Highlander! Jeff is the one who drives most and takes the vehicle to work. Even though the Dodge is fun to drive too. I am getting used to having this SUV. I have to say the back up camera is way better than the Toyota. I think one day I will get the Toyota though.
The third time we went back we really wanted to buy it and take it home. Well since it was after five we couldn’t. Have you ever heard of that?! Ridiculous I think. They said because the credit union is closed. I have never heard of a dealer not wanting to make a deal right away no matter what time it was. So we had to leave without the car which by the way. AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I HATE THIS PLACE!
Fourth time coming back to buy the car finally. Seriously getting ridiculous! While we are signing the papers for the car. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?! The guy asked for my name. We have been there for almost 40 minutes signing things and asking questions. WTF?! Didn’t even know my name?! Are you serious?!
Where did these guys learn business? It was a disgrace! We are literally paying you guys money for this thing and didn’t know my name?! Yeah that was the last straw for these guys. I like literally never want to go there again and I will tell others about them. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! Bunch of assholes. And something else the owner who was there never came and shook our hands for buying a car. WTF?! I also didn’t like how they talked down to me when they were explaining how a car loan works. I KNOW how a car loan works. Jeff happened to be going to the restroom so it was just me. I think they thought Oh because I am a woman I didn’t know how it worked.
SO…anyways we got a good car. It’s fun to drive and actually quite a smart car too. Lots of cool techie stuff. However Specialty Auto Salesand Service are a bunch of assholes.
There has been some up and downs on this diet. One of the downs I hated but it’s okay now is when I got my period last month. It was the worst period I have had since I was a teen. It was crazy but this month I had it and it went back to normal (whatever that means for me LOL!)
Last week I decided I am going to try the one meal a day thing. I have read that a lot of people only eat one meal a day. Now I usually don’t eat till noon but eating only one meal is another thing.
Me? Danielle? Eat one meal a day? Is that possible?!
Last Wednesday August 7th I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t eat till dinner time. That is when I decided to try the only one meal a day thing. I have to say I CAN do that! In fact last Saturday August 10 we were out and Jeff got some yummy beef jerky. It was only around 11 in the morning and I just couldn’t even eat it. I couldn’t even force myself to eat more than two. It was crazy!
Who am I? LOL!
What I found out on the diet is, I can’t eat bread like at all. I don’t lose any weight when I do. I don’t anything with sugar what’s so ever. Clarified I will eat anything with erythritol or swerve. Which Swerve is better. What’s nice is though I can drink all the coffee I want. Loving it! I absolute hate almond flour. I have to have my butter coffee in the morning and I came up with my own recipe for it!
Danielle’s Butter Coffee:
Your favorite coffee (I like to use Cameron’s coffee.)
One pad of butter (I use Kerrygold.)
One tablespoon of MCT Oil
Add vanilla (I only add a little bit)
Heavy whipping cream (Put in whatever you desire.)
Blend (Blending it makes it frothy. So good! Also the oil won’t sit on top.)
Heat in microwave (I put mine in for 30 secs. But whatever you think is hot enough for you.)
I an understatement truly! Last Saturday and Sunday August 3 and 4th were brutal!
Jeff bought a car hoist and he had it were he had him and two friends to help. But one friend bailed so it was I was the third person. Jeff bought a four post and it was a nightmare to put together but even more so take it off the trailer.
Oh okay let’s talk about getting the hoist off the trailer because could tell I was definitely the youngest helping. Since it was just Jeff and his friend who is also named Jeff and me. I will say Jeff W. because his last name starts with W. So Jeff W. says “Why don’t you get a cherry picker to help out with the heavy lifting.” Now as Jeff and Jeff W. are taking about a cherry picker. I was was thinking what the heck is a cherry picker? Is it a lift with a basket? How will that help with the heavy lifting if it has a basket on it? ROFL!
I asked Jeff what it was while we were going to get one. He laughed at that but he said it’s a like a little crane to help with heavy lifting. Said he would use it to pull the engine on his car as well. And I was like why do they call it a cherry picker then? He said it’s an old way saying for it. We both laughed because they should just call it a mini crane. ROFL!!!
What’s not funny on the way home we hit a nasty storm and had to pull over till it past. Couldn’t see a thing it was raining so hard. Also the wind was so bad it actually lifted up the truck a little in the front. SO CRAZY!
Sunday still the third person bailed. Yeah I am pissed about that. Seriously thanks for being a great friend. Being sarcastic of course.
Anyways my brother-in-law came over and he was a HUGE help. So grateful for helping us out. It literally took all day to put that hoist together.
I was sore for two days and so was Jeff. But we are super grateful for those who helped us.
I am surprised how proactive Jeff is being. We are now on the training part of the process and I thought for sure he would lag on that but he has been more proactive than me!
Surprising!
We learned some good stuff, I suppose and we are almost done with our part. Yay! What we will have left is six hours with our case worker. I hope we can just get that done soon.
That’s it just a lot of training this week to get done.
This last weekend was CRAZY! We had a big storm come by and knock out all the electricity and of course internet. It was Friday at night till almost all morning on Saturday. SO! We go to the store to get ice and we pack what we could in our cooler. Like not even five minutes later the power comes back on. Good but also it was like WTF! Thankfully we didn’t lose that much food during the power outage. In fact we were pretty lucky. Some people didn’t have power until today, Monday.
Then on Saturday we had another major storm come through after we unpacked the cooler. Of course right?! Thankfully the power stayed on. The storms were crazy it was like night outside. Scotty was scared but not Tex. He wanted to go outside while the eye of the storm was going on. Smh! Well at least he isn’t scared of storms. But still I was like you have to wait. Also hoping he wouldn’t go inside the house. Thankfully he waited.
Jeff got a great pic of Tex.
I think is my favorite pic of him!
Friday going back in time here. Friday 19th in the morning we went to Green Bay to eat breakfast with my mom and Bree. We were in Green Bay because we needed to drop off Jeff’s mattress. That was whole thing.
So get this we bought the mattress at Verlo they have a thing if you want your mattress fluffed or repaired. They come to the house and pick up and later that day they drop it off. Well apparently they were too busy for them to come to our home. So Jeff said we would drop it off. See Jeff has a spring mattress and I have a foam one. You wouldn’t noticed that they are separate beds in our room since we pushed them together and so it looks like a king bed. Never sleeping on a spring mattress again. Also I am upset with Verlo for this. Because it was literally a cluster-fuck. No one knew what was going on when we dropped it off.
Anyways since we had time to kill. I have been talking about getting my ears pierced again. My left ear piercing keeps closing up and finally I let it all the way because I got sick of fighting with it.
I got my ears pierced when I was three! It has been a long time. My mom got her nose ring at the Colourbox in Green Bay. While we were waiting I got new piercings! Yay! But I decided to get four piercings. It only hurt a tiny bit and I have to leave them in for six to eight weeks. I love them. I tried getting a pic to see all four piercings but only could just do one ear to see.
It was very hot out on Friday in the 90sF. I totally love my piercings! Everyone at the Colourbox were very friendly. OH and the price was a lot cheaper than I thought. It only cost $42 plus tip. Cheap! Sort of strange they only take cash but worth it!
Went to the dentist for a cleaning and it was good and bad. First the good. For the first time in my life I have great teeth (sort of). Anyways I didn’t bleed a whole bunch when she flossed my teeth which I usually do. There was less scraping too. She said I don’t really have a lot of plague either. I can’t believe it!
She asked if I drink soda and I said no. I gave that up years ago and now I am on the Keto diet. She said that’s awesome! By giving up soda and sugar will make my teeth stronger over time. OMG! Have I never heard that in my life.
The bad I have a stress fracture in one of teeth from only eating on one side of my mouth. It has a filling only. If it had a root canal I would get it pulled out. But a crown I will do and I don’t care what color it is either. Silver, white or gold whatever fix the problem.
The lady said this would be the last of the “soda teeth”. If I continue with no sugar and no soda. I could have the best teeth and not have to worry about so many problems in the future.
Speaking of which on the diet, I fit places! In the dentist chair those arms always sit on my hips. Not anymore! Also in the dentist office have those chairs that are meant for skinny people. I fit! I am not skinny but hey I can sit comfortably in those chairs.
This gives me the confidence to keep going. It’s been hare because I can’t eat this or that but the results. I love it!
