What I got for my bday.

coollogo_com-103132775I got some cool stuff for my birthday this year!

My parents gave me money. I haven’t bought anything yet from them. My father in law also gave me money. I know what I want to get though. I am going to buy a fitbit with both of the money I got.

I told Jeff I wanted one thing for my birthday. There is this picture that Jeff took of him and Koko while they were waiting for me one day. It’s my favorite picture of my loves. I told him I wanted that picture blown up and in a frame. Here it is:

My friend Helen got me some wonderful things. She made me that blue beaded tree! I can’t believe it. It’s so beautiful. And I got this bear. She told me that someone hand made this. Wow! I really love this bear. She knows I love chocolate she gave a huge bar of chocolate. Of course I ate it and do not have a picture of it. Oh well! What I can say I love chocolate!

Happy Birthday!

coollogo_com-140832278To me!

Today it’s Saint Patrick’s Day but also it’s my birthday! Today I am 32 years old.

When I was younger I hated that my birthday was on Saint Patrick’s Day because of the all the green and mostly all my birthday cakes were decorated in shamrocks and green. My parents thought it was cool to dress me up in green outfits, make me wear green shamrocks pins, those silly headbands with shamrocks on them. It was ridiculous!

When I was teenager and I didn’t mind it so much and started to have fun with it. I dressed myself in green, wore green shamrock socks and pins. Just to be silly!

However the real fun didn’t happen till I turned 21. Having my birthday on Saint Patrick’s Day means free drinks at the bars! Oh hell yeah! I totally took advantage of that. Got totally wasted on my 21sth birthday but it was fun. Also having beer that is green! I love green beer. Green beer is a tradition on Saint Patrick’s Day. All it is, is beer then green dye is added to make it green beer.

Now that I am older I do not do the bar thing. Sometimes I will go to bar but that is rare. Since I am married and my husband loves to cook. I ask for him to cook me a steak for my birthday and I still have green beer. I do the green beer myself. Yums!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Happy Birthday to me!

Killing Reviews

coollogo_com-89671352

Books by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard

Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed America Forever

This the first book of the Killing series. I have to say I wasn’t as impressed with this book as I wanted to be. I just couldn’t get into it. I did learn a lot about John Wilkes Booth that I didn’t know. But it wasn’t as exciting. I was hoping for more than it was. I felt bored reading this and made the book even longer. However if you like to learn about our sixteenth President then you will like this book.

Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot

I knew a little about President Kennedy. Only what I learned in school and about his assignation. A little about the Bay of Pigs but I totally didn’t understand some of it. This book is easy to read and I understood and learned a lot more. From him being a young man to his death. Goes more in depth of him as a President. His relationships, his marriage and the crisis’s he had to face. This book was a fast read for me and it kept my interested the whole time.

Killing Jesus: A History

You don’t have to be religious to read this book. This isn’t about religion this book is about Jesus as he is in history. It doesn’t talk about how he came back after he died on the cross because that is the religion part. I thought I knew about Jesus. (Growing up Catholic and going to Catholics schools. I am not Catholic anymore but we discuss that later.) Anyways growing up Catholic I thought I knew all about him but this book tells you things you didn’t know about Jesus. We all know the story of Jesus but this fills the gap of what they don’t tell you about Jesus. When he was boy to his death. It’s a great read.

Killing Patton: The Strange Death of World War II’s Most Audacious General

I like learning about World War II. I knew a little about General Patton even saw that movie with George C. Scott. Great movie! This book is not just about General Patton it about others that made an impact on World War II. This book is my favorite out of the series. It keeps you interested the whole time. Love learning more about the Presidents during this time. It goes more in depth with them. And of course of General Patton. Wow! I wish we had Generals like him today. It starts out with his death. Then goes in depth about the war to about the man. This book goes into some great detail about the horrors of war. Some of the details are so horrific it made me put the book down to take a breather from it. The end of the book does go over some of the conspiracy theories but they state those are conspiracy not the truth. He survived World War II and then to die in an accident. Then no one is punished for it. Sad! If you like to learn about World War II and General Patton then I recommend reading this book.

Indian Tacos

coollogo_com-1368238

Oh so good!

Before I moved to this small town I never heard of Indian tacos. I have never tasted Indian tacos. I am talking about American Indian tacos.

A couple of years ago my husband and wanted to make authentic Indian tacos. Now you can find all kinds of recipes on the internet but they are nothing like the ones the American Indian’s make. We know because we tried some not the same. Sometimes Jeff co-workers will bring them in. He always gets me one and their yummy. Jeff works for an American Indian Tribe government.

It’s a secret recipe that each American Indian family has. Asking for the recipe from his co-workers no one will tell him the recipe. However my father-in-law is American Indian and he works the same place as Jeff. He knows quite a lot of people and one lady was nice enough to give us the recipe. I couldn’t believe we a got a recipe! Been trying for years to get one.

On Saturday March 7 2015 Jeff made Indian Tacos dough by hand. Yes! They tasted like Indian Tacos that Jeff brings home from work. So yummy! On Saturday my parents and my niece came over and we all had tacos. It was a great time. You really can’t go buy these tacos anywhere else. There are few restaurants here that make them but it’s more of a cultural thing.

If you ever get a chance to try an authentic Indian Taco go for it! You won’t regret it! They are so delicious!

Brain Fizzle

coollogo_com-5548572

Derp!

Tuesday March 3 2015 I had a brain fizzle. I haven’t had one of those sine the 90’s. What’s a brain fizzle? It’s something I came up with when one day you wake up stupid. There is nothing you can do about it either. I guess it’s a way for your brain tell you that it needs a break.

Need a break from what? Need a break from thinking to damn much! I think about everything and anything also I have been trying hard to write a story that I want to publish eventually. Which requires a lot of thinking plus all the other stuff I got to do.

I forgot how a brain fizzle feels. It doesn’t feel like writers block even though I do have those. This feels like you are so dumb that you can’t even function. Multitasking was so hard to do on Tuesday and I love to multitask. The only time I am not multitasking is when I am reading a book, playing video games or sleeping. Otherwise I am always multitasking. Even when I am being lazy in my own opinion I am multitasking. Brain fizzle doesn’t allow multitasking because you can’t focus on anything. I literally stared in outer space for three minutes on that day before someone texted me. I was like where did that time go and where was I?

Even talking to Jeff was chore because I couldn’t remember anything interesting that had happened during the day. There was no point to Tuesday. I don’t even know why I got out of bed. It was a total waste of time. But then again, it gave my brain to restart.

On Wednesday March 4 2015 I felt better. I guess my brain needed a day off. Good thing it was on a day that didn’t have that much going on. I couldn’t imagine having a brain fizzle day when I had many things to do.

Change to Grow

coollogo_com-9099143

I don’t want to grow up.

I was thinking of two things I had to overcome s to be where I am now. Changing and growing is hard to do.

I much like my mom even though I hate to admit it sometimes. My mom can hold a grudge! You did something to her like twenty years ago she still remembers. It’s crazy! I was the same way. I could hold grudges for a long time as well. Around fourteen or fifteen I decided I wasn’t going to that anymore. It was hard to let go especially when it’s a supposedly a friend hurts you. But now I forgive more and let go. Even though sometimes I slip up and hold a grudge when I know I shouldn’t. But I no longer hold it for years.

This one is a new one for me. Like I have said before my dad was gone a lot when I was younger and that has affected me. When my husband Jeff has to work late for a long period of time or he has to work weekends instead of spending time with me, I get upset. Because it reminds me of my dad working all the time. I know it’s not Jeff’s fault he has to work long hours sometimes. This year I am working on just being fine with it and more understanding. Another thing that is hard to do but I just have to let it go because I know Jeff is not a workaholic like my dad. I know he rather spend time with me then work.

Changing my mind is hard to do sometimes because I have to change my feelings as well.

Random Thoughts

coollogo_com-4739714

I created Random Thoughts area because these are thoughts that have nothing to do with anything. I just thought of them randomly.

I just bought some new shoes. I remember when shoes came with all the same laces. When did shoes changed from flat laces to the tube laces? I hate those tube laces they never stay tied and they are always so long. So now when I buys shoes have to buy flat shoe laces. Since I have to buy new shoe laces it does force my creative side to come out. I say this because white, black and brown shoe laces are boring unless that is all that comes in the length I need. But I like to buy the funky laces. Unfortunately this time had to buy black laces. Oh well next time.

WP_20150226_003WP_20150226_005

Driving around yesterday and I was wondering why people still have their Christmas decorations up. I understand the lights on the house as long as they don’t put them on at night. Those things are a pain to put up, easier to just leave them there. But the decorations in the yard? Is that necessary? Are you that lazy that you can’t put those away? There is house behind us that still has their candy canes in the yard. Seriously Christmas was almost two months ago. It’s going to be Easter soon.

I am starting to read more books. When I was younger I read all the time. Now that the internet is so popular I lost my way from books to the internet. I read a lot of things during the day but not books. At one time I could had fill a little room with all the books I had. Finally I went through them and donated a lot of books that I just wasn’t going to read. Some of these books I have had for years! Some of my books I couldn’t part with. A lot of the books I couldn’t find digital replacement for. Some I just really like and would read them again. I separate those books to some books I have to read and get rid of. What sucks though is some are sequels and I know when I get to them I am not going to remember the first book. My own fault. Then I was wondering why all books aren’t digital? I was discussing with my husband and he said because if a book doesn’t have a demand for it why make it digital. True! But some books out there are crap yet they are digital. So I guess really don’t understand that.

Another thing I don’t understand is checks. What is this? The year before the 2000’s? Confession I have never successfully written a check. I say it that way because I have always had someone fill out most of it. I remember in school they would teach you how to write a check. I figure better to pay with cash back then. Why isn’t everything electronic now? Even if you don’t have cash let’s say food stamps. I was on those for a bit in my life. Food stamps aren’t food stamps anymore they were at one time. Instead of stamps they give you a card. You know a pre-paid card. Even the state got with the program. I think they should just get rid of the check most people just don’t know how to fill them out anyways. Let’s just go with card instead. It’s so much easier or pay with cash.

Soda

coollogo_com-15655352So Yummy!

This year for my New Year’s Resolution I decided to give up soda. If you are from Wisconsin then pop or soda pop. Even though I am from Wisconsin I say soda.

This is hard for me because I love soda. I love Coke, Cherry Pepsi, AW Root Beer and Cream Soda. These sodas are my favorite. Also Sprechers Soda which is made in Wisconsin and it comes in a bottle. Sprechers cream soda is my favorite then Sprechers root beer.

Giving up soda is so hard because if I go to someone house they offer soda. Go to a party guess what they have to drink…soda! During Holiday’s, birthdays we drink soda, fast food and soda. Got to have pizza and soda.

Also some vending machines you can get soda for fifty cents to seventy five cents. Cheap for a can of soda even if it is an off brand. Talking about off brand soda. When I was growing up there was this off brand soda called Jolly Good. This soda made me fall in love with cream soda. That rich vanilla flavor soda so yummy. Going to the store you can mix and match the Jolly Good for really cheap and get twelve cans. Unfortunately Jolly Good is not around anymore.

I love the taste of soda. The bubbles and the sugar is so yummy. The reason why I chose to give up soda is for a couple reasons. One to lose some more weight. Two soda upsets my stomach especially Dr. Pepper and Coke. I love the taste of soda hates how it makes me feel even the next day. Soda makes me feel very tired as well.

I am proud of myself going fifty days without soda because it’s hard for me. Also doesn’t help when my husband loves soda and drinks it in front of me. So hard not to want a can too. But I am determine to go the rest of the year without soda.

Metro Last Light

coollogo_com-32434125

I accidently came across this game on the internet. I think it was on YouTube. Sometimes I look around the internet to find video games to play. This game looked interesting to me and it’s a sci-fi game.

First of I didn’t know this game was based on book. It’s based on Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Secondly I didn’t know this was the sequel to the game Metro 2033. Metro 2033 is not available for the PS3.

The graphics are really well done. Bonus! I got it for a really good price $11.00 on amazon. Now this game was on sale when I got it. Regularly $16.00. Still a good deal for a really good game. I have a rule if I want to play game that I have no idea how it’s going to be. Twenty dollars or less is a perfect price to try out a game. And if I do not like it then it feels like I didn’t waste a whole lot of money on it. I also like to read reviews and look up videos of gameplay on the game. Yes I like to do a little research on a game before buying. I like to see what people say about the game and sometimes I can be swayed not to buy or to buy. But what I have noticed that I usually like the game that a lot people do not like. This game had mixed reviews. So I had to try it and I am glad I got it. It’s really great game except one thing. I do have a feeling that the replay value is going to be low because there isn’t really any choices you make and no side missions.

Metro Last Light the characters are well done and I love their accents. This game is based in Moscow Russia. So the characters are Russian even the all-around the Metro has Russian words and Russians signs. You can pick what language you want in the beginning. To be ethnic you can pick Russian of course I chose English. The voice actors are great and I love their Russian accents.

I study the Russian language for about a year. It’s neat to be able to cypher the letters and understand some of the words on the signs or the back of the characters uniforms without looking them up. Of course some of the signs are easy to understand what they say because of how they look without trying to cypher what they mean. Also when the characters swear in Russian I do understand what they say. They like to say bitch a lot in Russian. Funny!

Also the AI’s in this are awesome! When hiding and waiting for them to come by or when trying to find where they are they say things like I will find you or that guy was good guy after you killed a guy. It’s funny and it’s easy to find them in the room your place you are in.

The feel of the game I like and I like you get options of either being stealthy or go guns a blazin’. I hate stealth missions and games solely based on stealth. I am the player who likes to go guns a blazin’. I do not mind if there are some missions I have to be stealthy because their usually missions like that in any game and this game has them.

I like this game so far. Like any game there are some frustrating parts but all in all it’s good. The atmosphere of the game is great! The characters are not outrageous and can be related too. It’s a good first person game and I like the story. Another reason I like this game there no pressure to play online.

Awkward Buying

coollogo_com-247402769

There are only a few things that are awkward for me to buy in the store. Underwear and beds. Both are guesting games if I am going to like them or not.

Recently we had to buy a bed. It’s so awkward buying a bed because you have to lay down on them in the store with strangers. Well you don’t have to lie down with strangers they are in the store plus the sale person. (Silly!) Anyways it’s awkward because you have try out the bed to see if you like it and beds can be expensive.

I hate lying down in the store to try them out. It’s just very strange lying down in the store with lights on and the sales person asking if you like that one. Sometimes depending on the store they will lower the lights. Still you know they are watching you. Creepy! Plus depends on how you sleep is how you should try the bed. Good thing I am a side sleeper but my husband is a stomach sleeper. That is a bit weird to try out in the store. Also those pillows they have for you lie on are not really great pillows. Also how many people laid there head there?

Can’t really gauge how the bed is going to be when you get it home as well. Because in the store you don’t have your blanket, you are not in your pj’s. It’s just an awkward situation to buy a bed.
