Life!

Late Friday we went to Home Depot in Green Bay. My favorite place….not. Wow we haven’t been in a Home Depot for some time. The only thing is Home Depot has better wood then Menards that’s why we went there. There was only one person who was nice otherwise wow rude! Especially one guy and he was the hardware manger. I wish I caught his name he was rude and not very good at his job. I understand retail sucks I know I used to work at an ice cream shop. People can be such dicks. That is why when I go anywhere I am polite.

We were getting wood to build a fence this last weekend. Our old fence was put up badly and it was rotten. Already Scotty push through and got away. Good thing he was easy to catch. As we were putting wood in our cart Jeff cut his finger. It bled a lot! Jeff asked the manager if he had or sold band aids. Here is his respond “Hahahahahahahaha No.” He laughed! Laughed!!! Jeff’s respond as he walks away fine. Jeff had blood all over his shirt good thing it was black but he did get some on the floor. Good thing I had some band aids but still he laughed. I am sure people cut themselves on that wood before and they have rules for that kind of thing. I am mad he laughed. I didn’t think of talking to the manager till AFTER we left. Just wanted to leave so badly. Never going to that Home Depot again.

Saturday it rained a lot in the morning. I was bummed because I wanted to build the fence. I like having lazy Sunday. About noon it stop raining and we decided to build the fence. It took I would say about seven hours to complete. Jeff said he never tore down a fence and put one up so quickly. He has build many fences in his life. I told him we make a great team!

Menards

Today I want to talk about Menards. Why? Because we shop there often since we bought our house. I remember Menards when I was kid. I would go with my dad all the time there and I still have the same feeling about this store that I did back then. I dislike going. It’s boring there.

I am not a handy person so none of the stuff there appeals to me. Jeff of course loves it there and I have to say they do have good deals on some stuff. They also have this eleven percent they do every so often. Everything in the store is eleven percent off OR you can send in your receipt and get money back. We have taken advantage of that.

Anyway the real reason I want to talk about Menards is how different each store is. First of all the layout what are you guys thinking? Just pick one layout and do that for every store. Here is what I think is dumb. There is one layout but they flip them. One store everything we need is lets say on the right then the next store they flip it so what we need is on the left. Why do that? And why is the restroom always in a different location? I hate that.

Versus!

We sometimes go to the Menards in Green Bay. I hate that one because they are not friendly. No one every says hi or hi how are you? Can I help you? Never! We were there on Wednesday and we saw some employees not one said anything AND we had some questions to find things. As soon as I found one employee they escaped never to be seen again. They are never around to help out or even at their little desk where you can ask questions. Why is that? The only person who was nice was the lady at the service counter. She smiled at us and said hello. The only person in the entire store. I would like to give her a high five if I could.

Another time we went there we had a question on a A/C filter. You know what the guy said to us? Oh just Google it to find what you need. Are you serious?! Anyone can Google that. We are at the store you are working at it. Can’t find it just say ‘we don’t have it but if you like I can check other stores’. Green Bay Menards is a joke and since I dislike going to the store as it is. I really hate that store.

However the Menards in Appleton super friendly! There is always a ton of employees walking around and they actually come up to us. ‘Can I help you find something’? Whenever we have a question there is always someone around to help. Also if they don’t know the answer they don’t tell us to Google it. They find the answer. We haven’t had a bad experience at the Menards in Appleton. I wish we could go to that one all the time the only reason we don’t is Green Bay is a bit closer to us. Way to go Menards in Appleton you guys have great customer service and always help us find the answers we need.
