The Terror Season 1 Philo TV Rating 4

Inspired by true events. The Royal Navy with two ships who are attempting to discover Northeast Passage. They knew they would have to spend time in the winter as the water freezes. Now they have to brave the winter and the only two ships out to sea.

I thought this season was awesome! There are great actors and it’s a bleak beautiful scenery.

The crew has to attend to illness and rotten food. Rotten food is a big deal in the season. Also out in the vast of winter “something” is coming for them.

I recommend this to watch! You may also catch reruns on AMC. There is a season 2 when it’s finished I will review. I give this season a 4 because the “something” is a little generic and there are some scenes that I was confused on as they don’t explain them. Had to look on YouTube to understand them. Still a great series.

Kingdom 2019 Netflix Rating 4

Welcome to my first scary series! Took me all of three days to watch six episodes.

Kingdom is a Netflix exclusive and is from South Korea. I recommend watching this series in Korean and not have it dubbed. I started it with dubbed on and it’s not the same. It’s better to read the subtitles.

It’s a zombie series. However these zombies are different. At first I thought vampire zombies? Because they only come out at night but the last episode says differently.

There are many story lines going on in this series and there will be a season 2. We have a prince on the run for treason and his companions on the journey with him. The king is dead-ish. His bride is pregnant and has to have a boy. Except that story line I figured out right away. There is 2 wars going on. One against the dead and two who is going to rule the kingdom. The series leaves on a good cliff hanger.

I have to point out that this series is beautiful to look at! To the costumes to the background. I recommend watching this.

The End? 2018 Amazon Prime Rating 3

This movie is from Italy. The premise is pretty great but I didn’t know how they could make over an hour of it.

A business man gets trapped in an elevator. As he is stuck there the zombie apocalypse happens. I like the concept. Sometimes movies don’t have to be scary. They have to have a good idea and execute it well. And this movie does!

It does have some jump scares. However it’s what you can’t see that makes this movie. Also the big question how does this guy get out of the elevator or will he ever get out? I even satisfied with the end of this movie.

Why only a 3? This movie knows what it is and isn’t. It’s not a big block buster movie. I didn’t feel it lag anywhere either. However for a zombie movie it isn’t on the top of my list to re-watch. It’s good for a one time viewing. I recommend a watch of this movie. I do like the concept of not seeing but hearing what the outside world is going through.

Annabelle Creation 2017 Redbox Rating 4

This scared me! This movie is how Annabelle came to be.

A doll maker and his wife had a daughter and she dies by getting hit by a car. After years losing their daughter the couple helps an orphanage of girls and nun come live with them till they are adopted out.

One of the girls finds their passed away daughter’s room and of course finds Annabelle the doll. Then it all starts happening, evil! Annabelle terrorizes the girls and is released into the human world which is a demon.

There are some good jump scares and Annabelle herself got me! She was scary! I didn’t have high hopes for this film but this is worth a watch. Also they tie in this movie with the Conjuring universe it occupies.

Annabelle Comes Home 2019 Redbox Rating 2

Is this movie a comedy? I was laughing at it!

Annabelle finds a home at the at the Warren’s house as it is placed in a cabinet blessed by a priest. Now it can’t get out. Or can it?!

The Warren’s leave and leave their daughter with the babysitter. She has her friend over who is obsessed with the paranormal and let’s out Annabelle and you know what happens! Scary things but she doesn’t just let out Annabelle she lets out all the evil in the forbidden room.

The teens and the daughter have to put Annabelle back in her case while all the evil invades the home. At times I couldn’t stop laughing. It was just so over the top and they were trying to make it scary but it was funny!

I give it a 2 because there were some good jump scares but I hope they are done with Annabelle because it’s getting becoming a comedy and not a horror anymore.

Treehouse 2015 Amazon Prime Rating 1

I was going to give this title a 2 but I just can’t. The beginning starts out so good! But in the middle it all falls apart and becomes incredibly stupid.

A teen girl comes home to her brother missing. She hears him outside and runs after him into the forest and disappears. A teen boy and his brother are going to the forest to meet girls but end up finding the teen girl in a treehouse.

Then shit happens.

In the beginning the “beings” we can only see silhouettes of them but they can’t climb trees. However they terrorizes anyone that is in the forest. Seem like a non visual horror story then….the middle happens and it all falls apart.

Those silhouettes are just crazy people who kill people in the forest. It was a really great idea but to add that they are just crazy people killed whatever they were going for. Also crazy people can climb trees as they are people.

B movie and no one else should view this movie it’s dumb.

Went to the doctor on Oct 3. It was terrible and awesome at the same time. The terrible the doctor didn’t address my problem I told him about. Seriously?! Why even have a doctor if they don’t help me?! Thinking on changing doctors even more so now. I need this problem taking care of.

Another terrible is the nurse needed to take blood and for me they can never find the veins. So she tried my…my HAND! OMFG! I hate when they try the hand. Still couldn’t find the vein. Was sent down to the labs. Not even a minute the nurse took my blood. She said I can request the lab to take the blood. WTH?! Why don’t they give that option or say when making the appointment or the nurse before the doctor. I would rather have the lab take my blood.

The awesome! The awesome is I lost 15 pounds since my last visit last year. AND my blood work results were the best they have ever been in my adult life. I am so proud of myself. Keto really works!

23:59 The Haunting Hour (2011) Netflix Rating 2

A solider is found dead in a training session and strange things happen. Is what the movie says it’s about but that is misleading. The movie starts out good and has some jump scares. Telling how the island they are training on is haunted.

This movie starts out good! But then it falls apart quickly. There is one character who almost ruins it and there are some hit and miss moments. The guy who is in charge he can’t decide if he is British or from India. But then when he speaks in Mandarin and he sounds better. One of the biggest mistakes this movie makes is they switch between Mandarin and English.

There is one scene that freaked me out and it is in the middle of the movie. It’s when one character goes the restroom in the middle of the night.

It has good ideas but then goes to the same old concept. Too bad because the artwork in the beginning is nice but never explains it. Strange. The end is also really dumb. It’s too predictable.

Maybe a watch but definitely a B movie.

The Witch (2015) Netflix Rating 2

This movie is well done with the acting and the set. It’s supposed to be authentic except the women. LOL! I say that because I watched on YouTube how the creator wanted it all to be right in the time period. But apparently women always had great eyebrows and shaved.

It’s the 1600’s and this family is banned from their colony. They move out on some land near a forest which Witches live. Then they become cursed and things happen.

I didn’t really like this movie also I didn’t understand the ending too much. I had to watch YouTube to understand. When I did, I thought it was just okay.

The older daughter goes to loving God to questioning her faith then decides the devil is better.

It’s a beautiful movie but I wouldn’t watch this again. Also I thought it was pronounced Vitch because the cover is this VVitch trying to be fancy.

Pet Sematary (2019) Redbox Rating 3

I have read the book and saw the original a couple of times. This a remake and the changes made just for the sake of horror.

There is this strange detail that makes me wonder why they made this one death change. It doesn’t make any real sense to me. Pointing this out doesn’t ruin the movie because if you know anything about Pet Sematary you will wonder too.

The character Zelda’s death. It doesn’t make any sense to me in the remake of this movie. She dies in a dumb waiter but how? She has spinal meningitis so how does someone who is bed ridden get in the dumb waiter?

There are many changes they made in this film other than Zelda’s death I don’t find them terrible. I found that the main character Louis was bland. Other than that it was pretty good.

I recommend a watch but don’t expect to be blown away.

I guess technically 32 Days of scary since I had to start September 30th. Lol!

Rating system is 1 it’s terrible to 5 really great, a must see. I will also include where to see it.

Afflicted (2013) Amazon Prime Rating 4

Two friends who are also the makers of the movie. One friend Derek is dying and his friend Cliff want to take a trip around the world together since it may be the last time they can together. One of them gets bitten by a vampire.

I thought oh no not another vampire movie however the way they do this movie is great! I really like the idea of it. As one transform into a vampire the other friend films the transformation as they are trying to figure out what happened to him. They don’t know that he is a vampire. It doesn’t take long to set up the film either which is nice!

I would recommend a watch of this one.

The Final Wish Redbox Rating 1

Watch the trailer looks scary right?! I want to rename this film to The Final Snooze Wish. Because I wished to take a nap through this film than waste my time.

What was in the trailer with the old woman in the kitchen is what made me want to see this film. That scene didn’t even show up! Ugh! Took too long to set this film up as well.

A guy from (Twilight) comes back home because his father passed away. He comes home to attend the funeral and help his mom. His father was a collector of stuff basically. There is a strange looking item that grants wishes but has consequence (of course).

He wishes a series of things and doesn’t realize all the terrible things is his fault. Then he finds his father’s partner and he says. Don’t make 7 wishes otherwise it will have your soul. (Is it nap time yet?) There are a few jump scares but that is it. The end is lame as well.

This movie I recommend skipping.
